I have a SMCD3GNV Router provided by comcast. I'm trying to reset the router to the default settings so that I can reset the wifi network password. The problem is that it just won't reset. I hold the reset button on the backside anywhere from a few seconds to 20 seconds and it just boots back up with old settings and I can't login. It seems like an easy fix but I'm at a loss as to why the darn thing won't reset to factory settings.
The SMCD3GNV is real junk. However, it should reset to defaults if you press and hold the reset button for more than 15 seconds. The default settings are detailed on the label, and include:
