Device wont connect to Arris TG862 modem/router

I have an Onkyo stereo receiver that can get internet access via ethernet port. I have attempted to connect to the network wirelessly by plugging the ethernet cable into a Netgear WNCE2001 wireless adapter. The connection from the wireless adapter to the newtwork is working, but the stereo receiver still wont connect to the network. Onkyo tech support stated that the reason is the the IP address of the stereo receiver must be 192.168.*.* in order for it to connect and I need to fix the problem with my ISP. But the Arris modem /router IP is 10.0.0.1. Is this the cause of the problem?

Re: Device wont connect to Arris TG862 modem/router

You want to go to this link: http://customer.comcast.com/help-and-support/internet/comcast-supported-routers-gateways-adapters

After you go to the link you can log into the router and change the lan ip address to a 192.168 ip address.

Please go to this link on page 15 where you can click to make that change.

If you are still having issue after that please repost so we can further help you. If this did help you it's greatly appreciated if you mark as solution.
