I have lately been running into an issue where suddenly all devices connected via wifi lose their connections and I get an authentication error. I try to reconnect and it tells me the wifi password is wrong. I unplug then plug the router back in and everything connects as usual (with the password it was rejecting).
All hardwired devices continue working as desired with no interruption. It appears to be happening roughly every couple of hours since last night.
I have the provided Xfinity Wireless Gateway. I tried resetting the gateway to the default settings and starting from scratch but the problem persisted.
