Question about Arris TG862 Modem

Okay so i have a Arris TG862 Modem/Router all in one device, i've my computer on a wired ethernet connection and a laptop using the wifi signal hooked up to it. Everythings been fine but after a few days i noticed the blue WiFi button on my modem is flashing even though my laptop is turned off and not connected to anything.

I checked the online manual for my modem and it says a blinking WiFi button means "Transmitting data to the WiFi interface" what exactly does this mean? Is someone else leaching my wireless connection somehow?

My wireless password and username are the default ones located on the sticker below the modem, i'm pretty sure every TG862 has different numbers on those stickers though.. right?  Its like a 12 digit password as well, so unless every TG862 modem uses that same key code i really don't think anyone couldve just guessed it.

Also when i go to the 'Connected Devices' in my 10.0.0.1 interface, it only lists my computer and the laptop, there is nobody else or no records of another PC having connected it seems, maybe they are somehow stealth?

Anyways -   Sometimes the blue WiFi button is a solid blue color, other times its flashing rapidly even though my laptop is unplugged and powered OFF,  is this normal?  someone leaching?

Everything you have posted is correct, but as long as it doesn't list any unknown computers in the interface, only displaying your own, I wouldn't worry about it...  The network is constantly broadcasting, even if nothing is actively listening, meaning all of your wireless computers are off, so possibly its just attempting a re-broadcast of the network...  I don't have the exact technical explantion for it, but if anyone were leaching, you'd see it in the connected devices, it stores even offline computers from the past...

guess i'll add it could be someone trying to connect but getting the password wrong, it would blink then, because there is activity....  you seem to be ok...

Re: Question about Arris TG862 Modem

It's probably just normal background ARP / DHCP traffic (internet noise).
