I recently signed up for Comcast Xfinity internet and it came with the ARRIS TG862 router/modem, but I am unable to access two completely safe websites that I frequent when connected through Wifi. My desktop computer can access both since it is connected through LAN, but my phone, laptop, and kindle Fire all cannot access these two sites. The site is a forum for my college. Here are the IPs:

mobile site : 38.96.210.5

desktop site : 38.96.210.20

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

Those gateways have lots of problems. I would recommend you call 1-800 363-2416 and get help to put it in bridge mode and purchase your own router and hook it up.

Can you access those sites if you hardwire the laptop to the gateway device ? Can you please post traces to those IP's via a wireless connection.

Post the exact TCP/IP configs of the wireless devices as well as the output of "ipconfig /all" on a system that works wired via ethernet.  On the wireless laptop, can you ping the forum's IP?  I am also curious to see the traceroute EG requested.

Well, strangely enough my laptop can now access those sites perfectly, but my phone (EVO 4G LTE, brand new) and Kindle Fire both are still unable to access the mobile site of that forum (38.96.210.5)

I can access the specified websites from an iphone 4s, but not from my EVO 4G LTE or from a Kindle Fire. Any other troubleshooting tips?
