cable lady came in and added new router for phone. didnt have the slightest idea how to hook DI-624 G2 2.4hz wireless back up. since was hoping to just hook up right and just pick up where left off, attempted to adjust ethernet cables between modem & router and powered down, etc.. does not work. inet to desktop works fine, any other ethernet configurations stop it all, no signal. laptop in other room still gets signal from router, but no inet getting through to it with any wiring. Thanks comcast for stopping by and leaving me dead. any advice is appreciated.

If you mean the installer replaced the cable modem with a telephony model (like an Arris, etc), then simply power cycling the new modem is not enough, since it has an internal battery back so you can make calls during a power outage. There is a Reset button on the rear of the modem, just press it, or alternately remove both the power cord AND battery for a few seconds. After you do that, the router should connect just fine, assuming it worked before. So, the order is something like this:
1. Disconnect any ethernet cables from the modem.
2. Press the Reset button on the modem.
3. Plug in the ethernet cable from the router's WAN/Internet port to the ethernet port on the modem.
And you should be all set.
