I am running OS X 5.6 LEOPARD. Can't get Email by size or sender. System is slow. No Macafee. Time for Verizon?

Is Verizon going to offer you AV software? To protect you from what? But let's deal with one thing at a time. How are you trying to manage your email, the Mac Mail program or through a web browser? If via web browser, which one? What have you done so far to try and remedy the problem yourself?

Re: Comcast deficiencies for MACINTOSH

I'm using Mac OS X 10.5.6 on several machines all grabbing mail from Comcast into Mac Mail. I often get several MB files with no problems.

I can also read my Comcast mail online with SmartZone. I use Firefox for normal SmartZone, but when I use OmniWeb, I get SmartZone Lite.

So what can we do to help you debug your system setup?

Are you talking about sorting email in SmartZone? It works the same on Macs as it does on Windows. If you want to sort by sender, make sure you don't have it set to group by conversation. I don't think it allows sorting by size at all, on Macs or PCs.

It works fine for me with 3 Macs.  Why don't you stick around and let us help solve your problem?

Re: Comcast deficiencies for MACINTOSH

The OP has made two posts a few months apart, both complaining about some supposed "dissing" of Macintosh customers by Comcast. He doesn't seem interested in receiving any assistance. All of Comcast's recent upgrades have been platform and browser agnostic; functionality is basically the same as long as you're using modern, standards-compliant software. As for SmartZone, it's only one way to access your mail. If it doesn't function the way you need it to function, use something else that does. There are myriad free and commercial email clients available that will manage your Comcast email account. Find one that works for you.
