Need Copy of 9.0 or better

Had a mac given to me but with hard drive wiped does anyone know where i can download mac os 9.0

You need to buy it to use it legally. What kind of mac? If it supports OS 7.6.1 or older thats free to download from apple. If not I may have a registered copy of OS 8 or 9 I can sell you cheap. I need to know the Mac type tho.

I checked all my sources and couldn't find a copy for sale anywhere. I did see one on eBay though...

HardcoreMac sells older Mac OS versions, but they aren't cheap.

Is System 7.6.1 available for free download? System 7.5.3 (which can be upgraded to 7.5.5) is freely available from Apple, but I'm not sure that anything more recent than 7.5.3 is.
