In 4 years there hasn't been a response? I have uploaded multiple picture and files and I'd rather not have to mark each individually, can someone explain how this can be done?

There probably wasn't a response on that particular thread but in other threads about the same time.
Files you upload with an FTP program will be public.
Files you upload with the Comcast File Manager will be private.
Files you upload with the Comcast Photo Manager will be public.
You can change the permissions with the File Manager by clicking on the file's name. As far as I know, there is no way to do this in bulk and no way to do this using your FTP program. The Comcast tools are rudimentary and limited.

Thanks, using the search on the forum is very limited. This thread was the closest I could find. Your response answers alot.

I verified that you cannot do it with an FTP program, even one that has the ability to change Unix file permissions...the Comcast server rejects the CHMOD command....
