That depends on if you want to rebuild it or if you just want it gone.
You can disable web pages in Customer central under Users & Settings. But that also closes your file space.
If you created your web pages with Comcast's tool, go into the editor ( https://publish.comcast.net/home/ ) and delete each page using the red X.
You could then upload a plain empty page as index.html which would hide the Comcast-tool built web site.

Can get to publish.comcast.net/splash
then get the login page
after logging in , it says retrieving information
and goes right back to the login page
have tried this many times with the same outcome

It is working for my accounts. Just logged-in to check.
Just as a possiblity try clearing your browser cache or a use a different browser and see if you get the same result.

Make sure, too, that you have your PWP enabled in My Account.

Using IE9
Typed ftp://upload.comcast.net into the location bar
Popup box appeared for me to type in username and password.
Did so and got a listing of my files.
Do you have pop-ups allowed for comcast.net?

From this forum, go to the Customers tab above and pull down to Manage My Account. You'll need to sign in as the account that you want to use for your pages. Eventually you'll get to a place where you can choose Users & Settings. On that page, you can enable to the web pages.
If you are not seeing that, perhaps you are using a secondary account that is restricted from enabling web pages. In that case, log in to the primary account and change the secondary account's settings.
For other people, if you still can't access your pages several hours after enabling them, call Comcast.

my_pages, refresh my memory please.
What OS are you using?
What browser/version is your preferred browser?
What other browser[s] have you tried?
Have you tried using a stand alone FTP program like CoreFTP LE?
Have you tried accessing your PWP files from https://publish.comcast.net/home/
What is the URL to your website?

No problem anymore with PWP
1. Had the primary acct. log in to the manage my acct. and enable my PWP
2. Now I log onto www.comcast.com
3. Then go to www.publish.comcast.net
4. Sign on. Works every time

i am using a hp computer with vista
Internet Explorer 8 update version 0 - this is my preferred version as my webpages do not show correctly with chrome and firefox
i've tried chrome and firefox on the public library computer - not on my computer
i use the ftp that came with my computer - when i type ftp://upload.comcast.net nothing happens - when i type my daughter's webpage changing the word comcast to her provider a box appears to type her id and password
when i click on https://publish.comcast.net/home/ i get the message 'internet explorer cannot display the webpage'
here is an url for one of my pages:
http://home.comcast.net/~my_pages/ances_trees/x_ml
even clicking on that i get the message 'internet explorer cannot display the webpage'
check that url with both browsers and you will see the difference
any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated
thanks

I am on comcast and your page displays in both IE and Firefox. You must have some issue on your computer's browser internet settings, firewall settings or router settings that is not allowing you get to those pages. If you have some program like spybot or adaware, the web address for your comcast pages may have been put in the system hosts file as a site to block. Have you tried to connect with the firewall, AV, Spybot, etc turned off. If you do it for only a few minutes you should be safe. Try it with your computer hooked directly to the modem and bypass a router if you have one. Sometimes a firmware update of the router can correct a issue with connecting to an ftp site.
I have to look at the source code in more detail to see why your page is not centered when viewed in Firefox. That should just be a minor html edit. What program do you use to author your pages?

Are you able to access your comcast.net email?
Sorry to hear about your car accident, but very glad to know you're out of rehab and on the mend.

You can delete all the pages except the Home page, just make it "draft" instead of "published" I think.
My questions is:
at the bottom can we put a copyright symbol?-you know, where it has some text?
03-14-2012 06:40 PM
Also, why doesn't the html editor and link buttons work?
03-15-2012 10:09 AM
Whether or not the HTML editor "works" may be browser dependent. Are the buttons disabled (you can't click them) or can you click them and nothing happens?
Try using a more "standard" web browser.
For me, if I use Chrome, the HTML button works in that it brings up the page's HTML. But realize that only some HTML code will be accepted. Valid HTML may be deleted when you save. The pages support only some parts of HTML. That's not dependent on browser. It's not documented. Only some aspects of HTML are allowed on the pages built with the Comcast page-building tool.
To make a link, if I select some text, the link icon becomes available, but when I click it, the panel is empty. So I can't use the page editor to add links using Chrome.
But if I switch to editing in Firefox, selecting text and clicking the link icon brings up a panel where I can add the link URL.
You can't change the underlying page templates. So if your intent is to add copyright info to every page, you can't do it by modifying the page design. If you were trying to do that in HTML, I'm guessing that the page editor is deleting it as unsupported HTML.
03-15-2012 10:36 AM
yah, i figured it might be because i'm using safari. buttons aren't disabled, they become available when i select the text that i want to be a link-interesting, the link button works in this editor- so that just answered that question, browser shouldn't matter, something is up with the pwp html editor/link buttons.
now as far as the copyright question, let me try and explain myself better - say you go to a web page, most of the time at the bottom there is a company name/date/copyright symbol. my question is can i put my name/date/copyright symbol at the bottom, EVEN THOUGH i used comcast pwp builder and it wasn't me that coded the pages, but all the material on the pages belong to me-id just like it to be more secure so peeps can't steal.
thank you for the quick reply.

Copyright is for the content - words and pictures. What you have posted is copyrighted whether you mark it as such or not. You may add the copyright notice if you wish. It's a good reminder to people.
I'm not a lawyer, but I deal with copyright issues more than the average person.
