Hi,
First time poster on this forum. I've had a web site successfully up and running for quite a few years .. just been notified that the host server will be discontinued effective 30 April 2012. Since my 6 MB web site is fully functioning (created via MS FrontPage) .. can anyone kindly let me know how I can "transfer" the entire web site over to Comcast .. Maintaining the existing page names, graphics, etc. Thanks !!
Have a pleasant weekend .. Lady Jarhead in Boston

Do you have an up-to-date version on your home/business computer that you can upload to Comcast using FrontPage?
I would start by creating a new secondary account with an appropriate/related name. Enable the web pages on that account.
Someone else here may be able to guide you through the upload using FrontPage after your pages' are enabled.
I'm not sure how to direct the domain name to Comcast's server, but I think it can be done.

First you will need to go to the 'my account' link at the top of this page and enable the web page feature for the email account you want the web page associated with. You get 1GB of web page space for each email account you have with comcast. It will be more than enough for your web page.
Frontpage extensions are enabled by default for all web page accounts.
The directions for Frontpage 2003 are here: http://customer.comcast.com/help-and-support/inter
The directions for frontpage 2000 are here: http://customer.comcast.com/help-and-support/inter
Your main page html file should be named index.htm or index.html so that it is associated with and read with your webpage url which will be http://home.comcast.net/~username/
Frontpage should automatically upload all of the supporting files and folders when you upload using frontpage. Your username to upload to the web server will be your email address without the @comcast.net. Your password is your email password.

Hi Lead5,
Thanks sooooo much for your most informative reponse. I'm feeling much better knowing there is a "New Home" for my web site. I'll let both you and Beth know how things went for me.
Have a pleasant evening .. Helen
