Got a new computer than has seven days remaining of a free trial of Norton Antivirus 2012. I've never taken advantage of the previous free offers from Comcast of antivirus because I detest McAfee products and I've always UTTERLY detested Symantec products, have been a big fan and devoted user of ESET/NOD32. However, I'm loving the Norton and am seeing that it's thrashing ESET's new stuff in tests, so I'd like to keep the Norton, although I realize what comes from Comcast is more like Norton 360.
My question ... do I need to uninstall the free version of Norton's then do a clean install of the free download from Comcast? Basically, can somebody give me a step by step of how do I need to proceed here in changing over from what came preinstalled on the computer to what I can get from Comcast?

Hi PRW,
Yes, you must remove the NAV trila prior to installing the free Norton Security Suite (NSS) from Comcast. NSS is a clone of Norton 360 (minus the online storage).
You can follow the instuctions in the following URL (from Kaspersky) for the removal of NAV (using the Norton Removal Tool) and then getting your fresh install of NSS.
Please note, when you go to the URL for the NSS download, you will see a Constant Guard Protection Suite popup. Please click on the No Thanks button and you will be able to see the Get It Now button which will start the download of NSS.
Also it is very important to run liveupdate (rebooting as requested) until you receive "no more updates available", and then reboot one last time.
Plese let us know how things go.

Hi Darj934FASZER,
Please go to the following URL and follow the directions there:
Please note when you go to download the Norton Security Suite (NSS) you will see a popup for Constant Guard Protection Suite. Please click on the No Thanks Button on that popup and you will be able to see the Get It Now Button which when clicked will begin the download of NSS.
Also, please be patient when running the Liveupdate after installing NSS. It is important you run Liveupdate (rebototing when requested ubntil you receive the "no more updates available" response and then reboot one more time.
Please let us know how it goes and If you need any help - you know where to find us.
