Constant Guard Problem

I installed the Xfinity security software including "Constant Guard". I registered my Paypal login, but it is preventing me from logging in to access the pages I need to pay for an Ebay item. Anyone know how to disable or undo a constant guard login or resolve this problem?

Re: Constant Guard Problem

I was having other issues than what you describe with constant Guard (mostly performance issues). I originally thought I needed to have Constant Guard installed to use the Norton protection software but that is not the case. If you don't really need the features of Constant Guard and prefer to just have Norton, you can uninstall Constant Guard and still keep the Norton protection installed. This helped tremendously with the performance issues.

Re: Constant Guard Problem

Hello chalotj - my guess is that you have the Paypal account stored as a secured financial site, and in ebay you are being prompted as to *how* you wish to pay for the item(s) you are purchasing - and you may be prompted by PayPal. From your description it is a little unclear as to how you are being prevented from paying for your items. What message or messages are you getting? Are you getting a Constant Guard Protection Suite message, or something from Xfinity or anti-spyware?

As far as how to add an account to the "Never ask" list, it is done through the Options section of the Constant Guard Protection Suite Home. When a pop-up asknig "Do you want to use Constant Guard to open your XXXX Account?" appears - whether to Open or to Save an account, your options are "Yes," "Later," or "Never." If you click "Never," the page name is put into a Never Ask list, and the prompting stops. If you wish to remove the account completely, find the account name in the accounts list, right-click on it, and click to Delete it. This information is also in the Online Users Guide which can be accessed by clicking the "?" icon of the Options page.

Re: Constant Guard Problem

I was noticing after installing constant guard my computer was not running like it should and half of the web pages I need to access would abort and would not let me open main one was SocialSecurity.gov. I uninstalled it today because I'm sick of it slowing down my performance and affecting my computer just to restart and I have LOST everything! I now have nothing on my computer all my programs and everything I had installed previously are now gone! WTH this is ridiculous someone please tell me how to fix this?! If I have to pay someone to reload everything I am going to be quite the P.O'd woman!!

Re: Constant Guard Problem

JL_TD, The only way that everything could be missing from your drive would be if you chose to clean your entire drive, or if there is some sort of disc corruption. Removing a single application isn't going to remove every application from the drive. My recommendation is that you go to www.comcast.net/security and contact Signature Support. It is an online support service, but also offers home service. It is a fee-based service.

I'm sorry for your issue, but there is no way that highlighting the Constant Guard application in the Programs/Features control panel, and clicking to Uninstall is going to remove every application on your hard drive. Something else is going on. You should have someone run a disc diagnostic on the computer to see if it is just a matter of using a disc utility to repair disc corruption, and if you cannot reload the applications yourself, then contacting the Signature Support folks is very likely your best solution unless you have someone locally you use for your computer issues.
