If I said maybe, would you be upset? Provided that your version 5 is working flawlessly it is okay to do an overinstall for version 6. If you have any problems with version 5, it would be better to uninstall, run the Norton Removal Tool and reinstall. Otherwise, with no problems with version 5 - go for the overinstall.
A word of caution - please backup your ID Safe Data if you use ID Safe for you log-ins. This data should transfer with the overinstall - but better safe than sorry.
Once version 6 is installed run liveupdate (rebooting as requested) until liveupdate responds "No updates found", then reboot one more time. You should then be on version 6.2.1.5 (On main page of NSS Support > About). This will permit you to use FF13.0.1 also. Remember to import your ID Safe data if not done automatically.
