Thanks CC..

A quick question. or 2, :smileywink:  Are you receiving updates for Windows Defender?  Are you using WD?

I keep getting updated definitions for defender, but it's not showing as it was on my Vista machine.

The Vista is still running, and I keep comparing things..

BJ,

From the list of updates posted, it appears Carole is running Mirosoft Security Essentials. This include coverage formerly provided by Windows Defender so she would not see a separate update for it.

Nope, I don't use Windows Defender at all.  Sorry for the late response.:smileysad:

I installed one of the Windows 8 preview releases. It looks like MSE will not be in Windows 8. The security package will be called  -- wait for it -- Windows Defender!

Re: Windows Updates Win 7 & Outlook 2010

LPP, thanks for the info..   I'm used to seeing the WD icon on the task bar with Vista.  So not seeing it with the W7 machine, and updates are coming through Windows Update, confused me..  (it doesn't take much)   It must be running somewhere in the background because when I found the program, it indicated that it was updated and had run.

CC,  no biggie...  :smileywink:
