Looking at comcast Constant Guard from xfinity site page would "bot" emails warnings fall under "Phishing and Spam" OR "Virus and Firewalls" ?
Does comcast have a issue with false positive readings with macintosh platform ?

Bots could potentially be in both sections - depending on the nature of the bot in question. But you're probably looking for this one: http://xfinity.comcast.net/constantguard/botassistance/
Which is about bots specifically.
You can also see what we're seeing by visiting https://amibotted.comcast.net from your home.
We don't have an issues with false positives on Macs.

I also received an e-mail today (it was sent yesterday at 8:05 PM), telling me that "one or more of my computers might be infected with a bot". It was an ASCII-text message, no graphics and was sent from online.communications@alerts.comcast.net.
I copied/pasted the text and sent it to abuse@comcast.net per the web page.
Since I use LINUX 90% of the time, I'd like to know how they think my PC's are infected with a bot?? I run anti-virus daily on the Windows side (which detects mal/spyware among others) and my PC's are clean.
After looking at other threads, I found http://amibotted.comcast.net, it said I was "in the clear", so I am treating the e-mail received as a hoax.

Try this! Go to your Internet mailbox, set up a filter that looks for "Constant Guard" in the body of messages and discards the messages when it finds those words.

Obviously you havent dialed this phoney number, otherwise you would know that there is no one answering according to the message.

Check for DNS Changer as well. That too will report as a bot.
