Error Code 14 VOD

This is my second cable box to resolve this issue to access On Demand with the same result---> no access to video On Demand with error code 14 coming up everytime. I have called customer service with explanations of its a issue in your area? I have rebooted the box by powering it off and unplugging it--plugging it back in, then waiting the alotted 20-30 minutes to access on demand with the same result? I have played this unplugging game way to many times now.

 

We have 3 cable boxes in the house with 2 of them for recording (DVR's) and one that does not record ( Cisco). The one that does not record can not access on demand also, the one in the bedroom ( a Scientific Atlanta 8300 Explorer HDC DVR) can not access on demand. The other DVR in the main room is a Cisco that records but can access on demand with no problem?

 

This sounds like a streaming connection issue or account setup problem with multiple boxes,... I don't know but one works for on demand and two do not?

 

I would like this resolved so I can access on demand for the 8300 Explorer in the bedroom. I would like to access the 3D content also but this issue has been going on now for 2 months.

 

Please fix or send a technician to the house to resolve issue...

Having the same issue.  Any solution yet to this problem?  It happened starting from the time they modified it to xfinity.

I have been having the same issue with mine since early March - tried calling about it & got nowhere. I asked for a credit & was also denied. They told me it was due to the new menu & that each DVR was getting updated & that it would all be done by April 15. Well, it's May 5th, and guess what. Still doesn't work. They've also changed their phone system - you used to be able to send a refresh signal, but no longer have that option. Very frustrating indeed when we pay so much for this service!1

Anyone still having error 14 should email to we_can_help@comcast.com and explain their issue,  The Comcast Cares Team will get the right local people involved to get it fixed.

I'm 10 years  customer service very frustrating. not happy trying to keep but I plan to take on Monday my TFC  and see if will have a lot of issue still.. and they bille me so much . request for credit BUt wasn't given just by talking to cutomer service but  the bill is too high though I can't use  the service w/ SATISFACTION. more people they HIRE MORE Problems comes.

My problem never been solve good for couple of hours and then lots of calls just cheking e-mail. seem the service is not secure If I lift the phone or  use my internet all cars are on traffick in these area

I also am getting Error Code 14 ever since the new guide started up . Have cisco rng150 box.

Have talked to customer service who've sent signals to box twice and have rebooted twice. Not fixed!

Please email to the Comcast Cares Team with details of your error 14 at we_can_help@comcast.com and they will get the right local people to get it fixed.

Thank you. Have scheduled a service call to have the box swapped out. Is the Cisco box not compatible with new xfinity guide in regards to On Demand?

I too am having the same problem. Was told to bring box in and guess what? IT DID HELP!!! I too have also talked with customer care, like 4 to 6 times. I don't think xfinity knows how to fix the problem. This is going on for like 2 months. Why should we pay for what we can't get?

Do you use XfinityConnect? The Full or Lite version?
Do you use an email client? Which one? (Eg; Windows Live mail, Outlook, a smartphone etc.)
Which browser/version do you use? And- have you cleared your browser cache?
Which operating system? XP, Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X

I,too have been getting Error code-14 for months. Have had 2 techs try to fix it , rebooted,etc and switched out 2 boxes. The first tech was at my house for over 2 hours and found out he couldn't get an IP address. So he called a buddy tech and found out the internet was out all over the area and the tech said ok well it will come on later. No it didn't. The second tech didn't even come into the house but when I opened the door he told me the VOD issue was because the switch over was too much for the server and the engineers were trying to fix it. He told me he couldn't get it at his home either. I asked him if the problem was so big and affected many customers why didn't t Comcast notify them by letter or something on their website? He said "they" wanted the tech to tell the customers "face-to-face", good customer service. haha  So I just tried to sned a message to the address here and it wouldn't go.  I am very frustrated with all this. Any answers???

i been having the same code,same probs. comcast is a waste of time. i'm going back to verizon never had a problem with them. comcast is a joke!!

I was having the same problem and the box was switched out with no luck. I was then told it was a problem obtaining an IP address. Luckily, the second tech that came out was able to fix it. Don't know exactly what he did but it was something with programming or setup and it worked right away! Hope he shared the info with other techs!

I also had this same problem.  Mine has been out for 5 days.  I had a tech out to my house, yesterday.  The result was:  This is a Comcast techincal issue.  The problem was out on the pole.  The tech informed me, after 2hrs of investigations, that the issue will eventually be resolved. Anywhere from 2-3 weeks.  I now have to keep track of ALL the days MY HOUSEHOLD is w/out this $68 per month service. I cannot believe Comcast is offering a PAID services to its customers when the service DOESN'T WORK!  Customer Service at it's worst.  OH, but if my bill or (service payment) isn't paid on time...phone, internet tv get disconnected! RIDICULOUS

I am having the same issue and I was just on a chat session with Comcast who told me this is a free service - which is wrong.  They are trying to cover their butts so they do not have to refund any money to customers for lost service.

Same issue here.  Had a tech come, he told me that he removed a coupler that was bypassing a section of broken line.  This bypass was filtering out the IP address of the host which prevented the box from authenticating.  Good news, NO MORE ERROR 14!!!

 

If there is any equipment along the transmission line that cuts out the IP address (older repeaters, bypass filters, signal boosters from pre-digital age), your box can't respond to the authentication host with your transmission host's IP addresss.

 

Unfortunately for me, I'm now getting an ERR255.  No idea what that means so I'm off to start a new post, but I hope this helps some of my fellow Error 14ers and perhaps the Comcast support?

Yes, I too am having the same error code issue and when I called comcast they told me that they didn't have time to take my call right now. They were very busy and to call back later. SAY WHAT??????????????????????
