comcast has said many times it does not count twords the cap. Is your computer on and doing anything?

i know what they said, and having "my computer on" doesnt use a spike of 3 gb within an hour.
im saying it definitely is counting toward mine

the usage meter does not reset exactly on the first day of the month and it does not update in real time. You might be seeing usage from a day ago.

lol man i know how it works,i havent used anything except the xfinity app the past 2 days so i know its not from something else.
i went almost 50 gb's over without downloading pretty much anything last month and only using my browser and the xfinity app and xbox how is that possible.

I have no idea, I stream netflix on my ps3 and xbox, use the app, do tons on xbox live. I have never come close to the cap. I can tell you this if I go to my account page and then to users and settings the usage meter is not there. I wonder if they are updating something.
I would have no idea how much you know about the cap or the usage meter, I would be 99 out of 100 do not know how its calculated or how it works. Are you sure you don't have an open port on your wireless router and someone is stealing your signal? It has happend before.

This is interesting. I also use hulu, netflix, xfinity, and movie rentals and the most I have ever used is 200gb. I have been trying to check my usage for the past week but the meter has also disappeared for me. Do you guys think they moved it to a different page?

When you download the app your modem is suppose to reprovision itself so you do not get pinged with data usage, maybe your's didnt work when it did the set up. My data usage meter is gone totally.

XFINITY TV service on XBOX 360 does not count against the monthly data threshold.
The links below have some good information on that.
From Tony Werner, Comcast EVP and CTO dated May 15, 2012:
From JT Ramsay, Comcast's Chief Blogger, dated March 26, 2012:
http://blog.comcast.com/2012/03/xfinity-on-demand-
and excerpting from Comcast's J.T Ramsay's entry:
"Any XfinityTV service that travels over the public Internet, including XfinityTV.com and our Xfinity TV app on mobile devices, counts toward our data usage threshold, as they always have.
The Xfinity On Demand content that we will deliver to Xbox 360 will not travel over the public Internet and is delivered in much the same way as we deliver your video service to your set top box. Your Xbox 360 essentially acts as an additional cable box for your existing cable service. As a result, our data usage threshold does not apply.
For some context: our 250GB data threshold doesn't affect 99% of our customers. You can find more details in our FAQs here. From a streaming video perspective, you can stream hundreds of hours per month, depending on the bit rate".
EDIT: Just adding the below, HBOGO via XBOX (a separate app) DOES count against the monthly data threshold...
If I’m an Xfinity Internet customer, will watching HBOGO directly on my Xbox 360 use data from my monthly broadband data usage allowance?
Yes, because the video is being delivered over the public Internet. All broadband data that travels over the public Internet on our Xfinity Internet service counts against a customer’s data usage threshold, regardless of the source. For example, all Internet-based video streaming and download services, including XfinityTV.com, the Xfinity TV app and nbc.com, are included in the calculation of monthly usage.
