just make sure your home all day they will call you and if you don't answer they will not come. Also your issue sounds like a simple coding issue with your account not having the right on demand codes entered on it. I hope that is not what it is. You don't say what error messages you get if any so no one can narrow it down.

I made that comment because if you stay home a whole day and tech comes out to only find out its just a coding issue on comcasts end then everyones time was wasted. Have you called them and asked them to rebuild the codes on your account? Normally if you only see about on demand that means your account is not set up to get on demand. If there was a physical issue either with the wiring or the box you would not even get that you would just see an error.
What is your make and model of cable box.??

Post your location, please. I thought there are a couple of locations without On Demand. That box you have is so old it won't do the current version of On Demand.

I have to think its the box, never even heard of that box. You need a new box.
