No On Demand Service: Appalling Customer Service

I haven't had On Demand access for weeks now. All I have is the About On Demand listing.

I called the first time, was told to unplug my cable box and see if it helped. It didn't. They tried sending a new signal and was told to see if On Demand worked after an hour. It didn't.

I called a second time and went through the same steps from the first time. Still no On Demand.

I called a third time. They did the exact same thing as the first two times. No On Demand.

I called a fourth time to schedule a tech to come out. They couldn't schedule an appointment because their schedule calendar was inaccessible for my area. WHATEVER THAT MEANS. I was told to wait an hour for a "prompt" call back.

It's been three hours and still no call.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. Calling a FIFTH time to see why I wasn't called back.

Anyone know a better service for internet and cable TV? I am DONE.

I called AGAIN and got someone competent enough to schedule an appointment. Judging by reviews, though, I'm not getting my hopes up that they'll actually show up.

just make sure your home all day they will call you and if you don't answer they will not come.  Also your issue sounds like a simple coding issue with your account not having the right on demand codes entered on it.  I hope that is not what it is.  You don't say what error messages you get if any so no one can narrow it down.

ALL DAY?! They gave me an appointment window. I can't take a day off life for this stuff. THAT IS SERIOUSLY NOT OKAY if they are going to pull that.<br><br>And no, no error message. Just the About On Demand listed.

And why do you hope it isn't a coding issue? Couldn't that be fixed? Gah. I will make sure to have my husband home and my phone on...if they call when I am at the dentist, though...well, I'll leave my phone with my husband, then. So annoying.

I made that comment because if you stay home a whole day and tech comes out to only find out its just a coding issue on comcasts end then everyones time was wasted.   Have you called them and asked them to rebuild the codes on your account?   Normally if you only see about on demand that means your account is not set up to get on demand.  If there was a physical issue either with the wiring or the box you would not even get that you would just see an error. 

 

What is your make and model of cable box.??

Oh, I see. No, I don't even know how they would rebuild the coding on my account or what I should say to them to make that happen.

My cable box is a General Instrument Starfone Model Sft 2.

I don't want to, but I'm going to call and have them check to make sure my account is set up to get On Demand.

I just called and yes, On Demand is part of our package and that isn't the issue. Thank you for mentioning that, though!

Post your location, please.  I thought there are a couple of locations without On Demand.  That box you have is so old it won't do the current version of On Demand.

Maybe we just need a newer cable box. Hopefully the technician actually makes it out here on Tuesday. We had a newer one years ago, then they replaced it with this one. I don't remember why.

I have to think its the box, never even heard of that box.  You need a new box.

I think it's probably the cable box, too. I googled it and people from 2002 were saying they had that make and model, haha. I will let you guys know how the tech visit on Tuesday goes.
