When Comcast bought NBC, I expected more NBC shows to be available On Demand. Now even shows that were previously available (e.g., Chuck) are not. In fact, it seems to be that far fewer scripted shows are available On Demand than in previous years yet we have a lot more of the nonsense reality shows. On Demand is becoming increasingly irrelevant to my TV watching needs. If I could opt out of it and save a few bucks, I would seriously consider it.

on demand is free with your subscription service.

It's "free" because Comcast bundles it with digital cable. If it was extra, I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't pay for it and I'm sure Comcast knows this which is why it's included.

IMHO nothing Comcast provides is "free". Included at no extra cost, not a line item on the bill, yes. "Free", no.
