I too am having this issue. Using the same exact equipment (but on a new account with the same service level), it no longer works since we've moved. We qualify according to the terms and I've tried to login with my full comcast.net email address. Frustrating!

I am signing in using the email I used to access comcast which is xxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com.  This is the one that should be on file.

I edited your e-mail since we don't want people to post their e-mail address on a public forum.

 

You have to enter your e-mail address that ends with @comcast.net to use the Xbox app.

 

If you don't know it,  you can private message me your account number and I will look it up for you.

I don't see a small white emvelope.  The only envelope is the one marked email and when I click on that it takes me to comcast.  I see nothing about private email.

Still no solution found.. i have come up with an idea

so after my steps

clearing cache ,uninstall reinstall xfinity app , clearing cache again , changing my user name and password

using user name with and with-out  ( @Comcast.net )

removing hard drive and using USB Flash drive configured it to my xbox and recovering my gamertag and reinstalling xfinity app -------SAME RESULT -------- SETUP ERROR RESOURCE KEY NOT FOUND

Check this out

I have 3 xbox 360s  

two of those xboxes never had Xfinity app install (((NEVER))) So i decided to install Xfinity app on them and

BAM i was able to sign it , on that note after successfully signing into these xboxes i get a notice on screen claiming Authentication and then it says--- YOUR XBOX IS NOW REGISTERED TO YOUR XFINITY ACCOUNT

REGISTERED

I want to unregister my xbox from XFINITY from my  OLD account (WHICH BY THE WAY IS DEACTIVATED) so i can register MY NEW comcast account and user name

( my xbox is still linked to old xfinity account and thats what its looking for )

i have even gone as far as going to a friends house so he can log in with his username for xfinity and its still won't work error code 905

I understand that i could just use one of the other xboxes that work with the xfinity app

i want to use the one i am having trouble with

i shouldn't have to

So please, any help would be appreciated from Comcast Joe or Anyone of that matter...its been 2 weeks i've been going through this and repeating what i just posted

If you have a solution ,Post it ,,so that everyone that has this problem may come across this post and fix it when the solution becomes available

I'm still trying i'll keep everyone posted unless someone beats me to the punch

I LIKE ALOT OF OTHERS AM GETTING THE 905 ERRO WHILE TRYING TO LOG INTO THE XBOX APP.  COULD SOMEONE PLEASE FIX THIS!!!  I HAVE EVERYTHING NEEDED TO GET ACCESS TO THE APP.  IF YOU GUYS CANT FIX IT THEN DONT OFFER IT... Forget it Joe I fixed it myself.  The problem was I needed to log in under the primary account holder.  I forgot that info because its been awhile since we needed to log into anything using the primary account info.  But thanks anyhow.

Hello, 

I am also recieving the error 905 even though I am a triple play plan with most of the premium channels and I have an xbox live gold membership and I still get the error 905. I have a DCH3200 Motorola cable box and it has On-demand capabilities.

Hey everyone, I figured out the solution for this (in my case, anyway).  

I was trying to log in with my Gmail email address, which is on my primary account.  However, I kept getting the 905 error.  I had to log in with my actual Comcast ID.  If you're getting this error and trying to log in with an external email address, try logging in with your Comcast ID instead.

You must be signed in with the primary log-in on your account. The e-mail that you have associated with this Help & Support forums account is not the primary user.

 

Try signing in with the full primary account (john_smith@comcast.net) and see if it works. If you do not know who the primary is, let me know and I will send it to you in a private message.

whats the story,  i thought you said someone will get back to US  SHORTLY.. i have yet to recieve a phone call and its been 3 1/2 weeks calling and posting--you asked for my gamertag and i didn't get an e-mail or response---even a an idea that you may have would help

No TIVO Box

No Smartcard Box

Two xboxes work with xfinity app

Third Xbox doesn't ( this one i want to work, I shouldn't have to use the others )

Using Primary account user name  and password ( Obviously - because it worls on the other xboxes )

clear cache

uninstalled-reinstalled

reset modem

Called comcast and xbox---called xbox and went three way calling with comcast ( not a CLUE )

I think our main goal here is to UNREGISTER THE XBOX from an OLD account

I am the Primary User and all info is mine

old account was in my ex's name

Can you please unregister my Xbox from old xfinity account here is my serial to my xbox

I even unregistered and reregistered with xbox live

 

Otherwise

making my own assumption

if you ever buy an xbox used and it had xfinity app on it  OR

moved to a different location and got NEW service ( not transfered service )

YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE XFINITY APP

because ithe XBOX is registered to someone else or it is linked to old comcast account

have super duper rare xboxes that don't like xfinity app-

faulty xboxes (only with xfinity)

or internal memory within the xbox that you CANT access

Cablecards are supported but you need Xfinity High Speed Internet and Xfinity Cable to use the app. You also need to be logging in with your Comcast.net e-mail address and not with another type of address.

Same issue. I have Comcast digital preferred and XBL and I get 905. My XBL gamer tag is 'Masti Maniac'. Forgot to add: I don't know what my primary ID is since I cannot find it anywhere on my comcast account settings page (sigh...you would think that I could easilty find it).

From this page click MY ACCOUNT very top right sign in and from that page TOP MIDDLE

USER & SETTINGS

It will be the drop down box first thing, you can't miss it

if you can't access the page with your user name and password maybe your not the account holder and your just a secondary and don't have permissions

Same error for me.  I have the proper subscription, I have three xboxes, two of them work perfectly with xfinity, however one gives me error code 905.  I am signing in with proper email from comcast.  My Gamer tag is thetshot.  Joe can you help.

Same error for me:  I'm a new customer and was unable to login at first under my username (I tried right after my install), so I tried my parents account..which worked.  Now everytime I try to login to my account I get the 905 error. I can login to xfinity on the web, and my android tablet... but not xbox.

 

Really disappointing that it's taking this long to come up with an answer. I'm a new customer with a 2 year contract, but as far as I'm concerned you're not delivering on the services offered & breaking the contract, and I will switch providers if this isn't finally addressed soon.

 

My xbox has to be linked to my parents account somehow, and similar stories in this thread seem to say the same thing.

I am having the same 905 Error code issue.

I used the primary account to sign in, and used the full email address.

I also fulfill all the Xfinity requirements.

My Gamertag is Bellazor713. Please help.

Frankly, Joe, you should stop with your persistent copypasta of the generic PR statement "we're looking into it and will get back to you shortly," but I know that's probably part of the rules of being a support agent, so I won't bother.

 

I've been having a lot of issues myself involving this Code 905 error. After entering all of the pertinent account information to the system, using the Comcast ID and my correct password, it returns this exact message: "Error905 resource key not found." 

 

Is it possible that there's an issue arising because my username is not the primary one on my account? Or is it something else? Feel free to PM me about it, even if the only of explaining is using all the "technical mumbo-jumbo." I'm a giant computer nerd anyway, so I'll understand it.

I could log in with an account that just gets basic on a tv that only has the digital converter but cant log in with my account that gets all channels on the same tv.  So the requirement to have a cable box is not true since i was able to log on using a basic account with only a converter.    So what is the issue with this error message.

After doing more research, this error & the attention it's receiving is just unacceptable.  The first post in this thread was now two months ago.  

 

"looking into it" makes no sense to me.  As a software developer myself, you have error codes so you can trace errors.  Ours is 905. Unless it was poorly developed, it should be immediately clear to the development team what the problem is.  And it seems to be a clear trend of people saying they signed on with another account, and they can't sign in with their new/different account.  There's your bug.  At least give us a timeframe on when this will be fixed.  Your current suggestion that they're still looking into it after two months is pretty frightening, actually.

Hi Comcast my son has been trying to log in to the xbox 360 xfinity app but everytime he tries it says this Error905 resource key not found Code 905 it has been saying it ever since we moved here at the house we lived before he had used the xfinity app and it would work fine we have everything meet all the requirments can you guys please fix this and if you have to know his xbox 360 gamertag is LiilMan916 hope this gets fixed asap!
