if it helps i had to retrieve my password from customer service when i first wanted to sign into the app they gave me a temp password i used that to sign in and it worked for like 2 days and i changed my password then the application start tripping and lagging so i logged out and went to log back in with the new password and thats when the error came

It needs to be the primary acct. not all the other accts created under the main account, i had the same issue with mine, then i used the one that i got when comcast came out and installed for the first time.

Try uninstalling the app on the XBOX and then reinstall it. Also, try restting your router (if applicable) and modem.

Same problem. Spent 45 minutes on the phone yesterday in conference call with Microsoft Xbox guy and Comcast guy. Everything checked out on Xbox. Comcast reset my modem. Did something else on his end. I deleted and reinstalled the Xfinity app. Comcast guy said it should work, but it didn't. Then the call was abruptly ended or cut off and no one ever called back as promised if we got cut off. Still getting error 905, only now I'm too angry and frustrated to try calling again. My gamer tag is PiedType, and like umpteen others on this forum, I'd appreciate your fixing error 905, because it's obvious the problem lies with Comcast.

I am getting the same exact error 905. My gamertag is DmnJuice.

 

I've been trying to log in at least once a week ever since the app came out and have never been succesful. The very same credentials work for the Xfinity app on my phone. I used to get a different error complaining that I wasn't using the primary account, even though there is only one user/email associated with my account. That error stopped a few weeks ago and now I'm getting this 905 error. I meet all requirements.

I was in a conference call yesterday for 45 minutes with both a Microsoft Xbox rep and a comcast rep. In that time it was determined that the Xbox was working just fine. The modem was reset remotely by Comcast rep, who then did something else at his end. He said it should work. It didn't. The Xfinity app was deleted and reinstalled. Still didn't work. That's when the call got cut off. I'm still getting error 905. My gamer tag is PiedType, and I've done everything I can from my end. Comcast, you obviously have a problem. Please fix it.

 

P.S. I can only assume I'm using the correct login and password (they work to log in here). The account was established 7 years ago and there's no way I can remember for sure what info I used to set it up then. You should have that information, right?

Hey Joe it seems like your answer for everyone is we will get in touch with you shortly and noone ever gets a call back or issue resolution. Also it seems like noone wants to take accountability for the issue at hand. Xbox says its comcast and comcast says it is xbox. This is an ongoing problem and noone seems to know how to fix it while we are paying premium prices for your services.

XBOX 360: 905 Error Code

I am getting extremely frustrated with this company. I have been on the phone and on the online chats for the last week with issue after issue. Yes, my XBOX meets all the requirements. I do have XBOX Gold Membership. When the trial was going on, the XBOX worked just fine. After my move, I had to make a new login. The XBOX can sign into my old one without a single issue. My new one keeps getting the 905 error code. I swear this company needs to get their stuff together. I would really like this issue to be resolved ASAP. Preferrably before I rip my hair out :smileyhappy:

PiedType: Make sure you are signed in using the primary log-in that is on your account.

Yes and yes. I have the triple play, and I am paying for streampix so I don't see what the issue is!! I'm getting really fed up with this company!!!!!!!!!

You sure don't make it easy. In order to confirm the primary account name I needed, I had to give an account number, which does not appear in its entirety on my electronic bill from the bank and which I could not access online because I didn't remember the primary account name. So I had to find a paper statement from last November to get the full number so I could finally get in and see the primary account name. Naturally that wasn't the name I used to get into this forum, so I had to log out and come back in with the forum login (which is not the primary account name). All that so that I can report the following:

 

I tried logging in to the Xfinity app with the newly recovered primary account name and now I'm getting a different error -- "Setup Error. Unfortunately we had an order service failure when attempting to activity XFINITY TV on XBOX 360 ... Please contact us at 1-877-1846 ... mention 'Code 805' ... "

 

Do you have any idea how much I don't want to try another phone call to you guys!!??

Hi Joe. I did try that. Had to go to http://customer.comcast.com/help-and-support/account/get-your-comcast-id-or-user-name to figure out what it was since I've never logged into anything using that email address. I changed the primary account email to be the Yahoo one.

 

When I use the Comcast.net email address found using the above link, it tells me the username/password is wrong.  How could the Comcast.net address have a different password when I changed the primary account email to be my Yahoo one?

Error905 resource key not found code 905!!!!!!!!!!

Well somehow my post got deleted which is pathetic! But anyways still tried reinstalling the app and still getting the error 905 resource key not found can you guys do something about it it worked fine at our old address but ever since we moved here it hasnt been working! HELP!!!!!

Ok so your talking about on demand?  Did you cancel your service or move it?  No one here can fix your on demand account this is a user to user forum.  You can try unplugging the box to reset it, but it is most likely an issue with how your account is set up at comcast.  you need to call them, but it is the weekend and the normal people are not there.

905 when i try to sign in with my comcast account i use for the comcast.com website.

i have all the requirements.

I am experienceing the same exact problem that you are having.  I moved and now i get error 905. lets go comcast its been over a month and yall still havent fixed this. i even called and yall couldnt do nothing for me

Our team tried calling you three times between 5/16-5/17 and left voicemails. Did you not receive them?

Had my son download the Xfinity app on xbox 360 and received error 905. After reading various forums on Comcast and on Microsoft, I realized that no one really had a fix. So...

 

I had my son download HBO GO app onto xbox as well...1. Because we have HBO and 2. Because HBO requires you to get an ACTIVATION CODE on the xbox which you then input on the website via the pc.

 

Once we put the activation code in the xbox became linked to our primary comcast account and voila...xfinity now works too..

So i tried everything you recommended comcastjoe uninstalling restarting modem router every possibe thing and it still says error code 905 like i said before the app was working at our old address but its not working at our new house please fix this soon!!!

I've tried EVERYTHING in this post and have had NO success in fixing this.  I still get the 905 error.  I installed HBOGO to see if that fixed the issue and HBOGO works fine but xfinity STILL does not work.  905.  I've rebooted, re installed, re set everything.  I've even talked for HOURS on the phone with techs and nothing has fixed the issue.  It was working at my old address but no longer works at my new address.  I have a new account, set up a new primary user name and new password.  Still does not work.

I have the same problem.and I uninstalled the service from my xbox restarted, reset my router (I think), and I'm able to use my sons information to use the service but not my own.  Not sure what information you will need from me, I will be checking back.

I'm having the same issue as everyone else. I looked at that Xbox 360 FAQs thing and have a question: I looked at my modem and the list of modems on http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/ and mine isn't on there (mine's an Arris TM602G/CT). Is that the only thing preventing me from being able to use this service?

Not only did that not fix the issue.  Now NONE of my 7 video boxes work now.  Someone called when I was working and said it should be fixed.  I said I wasn't home, they said they would call back. Nothing and now I have NO TV service.  None of my digilal or HD boxes work, and when I checked the XBOX 360 it still doesn't work.  My online service still works though.  All boxes say not authorized.  Funny thing is, HBO GO works fine.

Well like the rest of the users here, i get a error 905 resource key not found as well.

Please note i know this is not the main email account for our service, and does not work regardless of what email i type in, primary or not. I think that it is rediculous that this problem has been going on for roughly 2 months now and comcast is just sitting there telling us they will look into it...

I am using my full primary comcast id email adress. I have all the services needed. It worked for me when it first came out. now for the past month i have had not been able to use the service. it keeps on saying 905 error key not found. I really need to get this taking care of. im reading that this issue has been going on for two months and there is no solution to fix my problem. so what needs to happen?

I tried for a week and was one the phone for hours with comcast but they couldn't ger it to work, still kept getting 905 errow no source key found. Got to thinking and called comcast back and had them check back and see if I maybe had a primary account that might have been changed and sure enought 19 years ago it was they corrected it to current primary logged in works fine.

I have a feeling they are going to tell me the same stupid things comcast always tells me when there is a problem, which is to restart (aka unplug) both the router and modem, wait 1 min, then plug in the modem, wait 30 seconds, then plug in the router, which have already been done and nothing was solved. Its a little inconsiderate for you to think that i will just sit around for a phone call in the next 3 days, for both our sakes i really hope im not in for the generic phone call of the troubleshooting technique that you have had for atleast 5-6 years now

Our team has already tried calling you once. We added the rate code to your billing so please try again and see if it works. Sometimes this is all that is needed, but not always.

 

If it is still not working, see if someone from our team left a message. I have been informed that they did.

This thread has become a source of only frustration.

 

I too got the "you'll receive a call within 72 hours" but I didn't.  I'm absolutely sure nobody left a message, and I didn't miss a call.

 

Even if they did call, this is obviously an error with the xbox application: somewhere there's a link to from an xbox or an xbox gamertag to an xfinity account that needs to be severed.  No amount of "troubleshooting steps" is going to solve anything. 

 

I'm giving up, and have decided just to wait for the next update.  I've seen over & over "we're working on your issue"... which makes no sense to me.  Does it really take comcast two and a half months to find an obvious bug in their software?   The only thing that has been done in this thread is for people to be strung along.  Really disappointing.

i am having the same error 905 ... funny thing is my app was working all i did was sign out and tried to sign back in then i started recieving the error. my gamer tag is chuc0076.
