After entering my accoint info I'm getting "We could not detect a compatable cable modem Code 806".
I've got tripple play, two dvr boxes, a Arris TM402P/110 cable modem.
My Xbox is conntected via cable to my router (Linksys SRX 400) which is commected to the Arris. My Xbox tests OK for XBox Live connectivity.

looks like nobody answered you, I have the same exact issue and similar setup....did you happen to find a solution to this yet?

How old is your modem? I get the same message. I'm wondering if they're going to force you to get a DOCSIS 3 modem.

No other replies and I have not found a fix. The Arris is a telco modem supplied by Comcast so it's hard to imagine that it is not supported.

A D2 or D3 modem is required (see http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/ for a list of supported modems).

Same error code here. I have a Comcast-provided Ubee modem. Called and opened a ticket over the weekend but haven't heard anything back yet.

I'm getting the same code. I have a Motorola SBG6580 DOCSIS 3.0 Wireless Cable Modem. My Xbox connects wirelessly. I don’t have any problems connecting to Xfinity on any other device.

What is the model of your Ubee modem?

Thanks but still not working. Not sure what qualifies as a few minutes or if I waited long enough. But, I'm still getting Code 806. Frustrating. Thank you for your time and efforts though. I'll try again this evening.

Hello, I'm having this same issue with a Motorola SB6120 modem on a wired network connection. Xfinity phone support has been unsuccessfule resolving this so far, are there any suggestions?

No one at Comcast can help me either. Sorry. Seems like they were totally unprepared for this.

I was getting the same 806 error code with an Motorola SB6121 modem, and I called the 1-877-599-1846 Xfinity on Xbox support number. He had to update my account & push a new file to my modem/reset a few times. But it started working.
I am curious why these account codes/modem files weren't already in place, or at least in the process of rolling out (maybe they are, I just was unlucky)
Basically, it took some time but it started working. It's comcastic! (I don't think they use that line anymore)

Bump. Is this going to get fixed.
Just tried this with a DOCSIS 3.0 SB6120 ... nothing ... Modem rebooted after trying the first time but the app still gives a Code 806.

I get so frustrated with Comcast so I've given up. It's just what I've come to expect from them. Mine still not working either with a DOCSIS 3.0 modem.

I am also getting this error. All the setup seemed to go fine on the Xbox 360, until it pushed back this code. I am connecting via an Arris WBM760 cable modem.

I'm getting this too, with my Motorola SB5160 which is D2 compatible. C'mon Joe - whats the deal?

I have the same 806 code with a Motorola SB6120 Docsis 3.0 cable modem.

Receiving error code 806 when attempting to setup Xfinity app on Xbox 360. Modem is a Scientific Atlanta 2100R2 which is showing as DOCSIS 2.0 which should be compatible. Help!

Joe,
What's the status on this? It's been almost two months and for sure no one has "reached out" to me. I sent you a offline message volunteering to help debug the problems but never got a response.
Thanks,
Mark

Can you private message me the Comcast.net e-mail address and Xbox Live Gamertag that you are using?
Thanks,

Looks like it's been more than 4 months since the last update...are there any solutions available?
I just upgraded to a new modem today (Motorola SURFboard SB6121), which is on the Comcast certified list, and I get this same error code Xbox App: Code 806. Very frustrating.

FWIW, Comcast support fixed this problem for me a long time ago. I was told it was a cable modem provisioning issue.

I'm having the same problem. I have a Linksys WCG200. It's rated at D 2, so it should work. Any help would be appreciated.
