Hello,

I'm yet another person having the same problem with this error code. I meet all the requirements.  I thought it may be a problem with not having my "Xfinity TV profile" setup.  I was able to complete this setup after much frustration.  It would simply not complete the profile setup.  Anyway, that is another matter.  As I said, I was able to resolve it.  I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app a multitude of times.  I have deleted my harddrive memory cache on multiple occasions as well.  I have tried activating at various days and times.  Nothing works.  Please fix this problem.  If you have other suggestions, other than offered above, please relay them.  Thank you for your time and assistance in this matter.

I too am getting 805. I have all required services: Comcast Digital TV with Set-Top Box and On-Demand + Performance Internet + Xbox Live Gold. I was getting 808 and was advised that my D-Link DCM 202 DOCSIS 2 modem was the problem, upgraded to Motorola SB6121 DOCSIS 3 modem, not sure if this actually got me from 808 to 805. Have spoken to numerous support personnel. Some good some not so good. I actually have a tech coming out in about an hour to check cable into the house, though I doubt this is the issue since I am getting good speeds 25 Down/4 Up.

 

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

WOW - Not sure what did it but... Tech came out hooked up his box to the line, shortened some cables and now it works. Speeds are the same 25 Down / 4 Up but it works, and I logged into Xfinity app on Xbox.

 

Not sure if this had anything to do with it either but just before he got here I turned off GameFuel on my D-Link DGL-4500 router (for those that don't have it or know what it is it prioritizes Xbox game traffic to cut down on lag - QoS for gaming???). Unfortunately I was not able to test whether or not that was a factor all by itself since he literally got here minutes after I turned it off. I suppose if it prioritzes gaming over video streaming it could have something to do with  Xfinity timing out.

 

Good luck to everyone else getting your errors resolved!

I have been trying to connect for about a month and still nothing. I've been  deleting it and clearing my cache at first it was the 900 error or W/e now its the 805 error code.

I meet all the requirements, I used to get the 805 error (tried 60 or 70 times) now I get the 999 error. Also I have HBO and of course the HBO GO app does not work either. My download speeds are very poor 1.7Mbbs or so, upload speeds are double that tho.

 

I have to say I am pretty disapointed with the poor performance and all the apps that don't work... very tired to pecking my email and password in LOL.

I use a cable card now and no longer have any Comcast boxes. When I last had a cable box (November), On Demand worked just fine.

 

I don't know if it helps any but in one of my first conversations with customer service about this issue, they said that On Demand was not showing up as available in my area (based on my address). I asked the rep to look up my next door neighbor and sure enough it showed On Demand was available. So it seems like my account was marked as without On Demand based on my lack of a cable box and/or my use of a cable card.

I'm going to ask the same question as mirosco, because I have a TiVo HD with a Cablecard but no Comcast box, and I get error 805.  Are CableCard only users still screwed?

I have been trying to get this issue resolved for at least 6 weeks now.  I am one of the people getting the code 805 while trying to use the xbox 360 xfinity app and only have a cable card no cable boxes.

 

During this process I have had work orders opened and closed with no contact, work orders opened with no contact, been disconnected while waiting and talking with customer service, and never receiving call backs from supervisors.

 

As I am sure we all are I'm getting very frustrated with my comcast experience and the lack communication/transparency associated with this issue, as such I will be filing a complaint with the FCC and I urge anyone else experiencing this issue to do the same.  It may not light a fire under comcast to help us in anyway but may bring a little more visibility to the situation.

Well it has been over a month since I started trying this app on my xbox 360 and I still have not been able to get it to work. This has become a joke. Why would you release something that doesn't work ? When you people figure out how to make it work, let me know and I will try again. Otherwise it will stay off my console.

well i just called tonite, the representative told me to call back and speak to the billing department. i guess they need to activate the system or something.

okay i just called back again.

 

and it works. just call the number shown, tell the representative, he'll ask for the full name, address, n last four ssn.then he'll tell you he has to put a passcode or something for the account, then he'll tell you the modem will reset, n if it doesn't he'll ask you to press reset button on your modem. then once lights are all glowing, try signing into xfinity again, i didn't use my full email just the name, for me it was ulquiorracifer, so try not putting the full email.

 

then it loaded, n said you do not need to log in again, the username or something already been registered.

Our content team is constantly working to bring you a wider selection of TV Shows and movies. We add new content daily, but due to licensing agreements, we may not have every movie/show/episode available for viewing.

 

We are planning to add more content but no timetable has been set as of yet.

After reading about some successes in this thread, I called back again today. Long story short, they said Video On Demand needs to be added to my account to use the Xbox app, but they can't add it to my account unless I had a TiVo or Comcast box.

I spent two days with a 905 error (see my post under error 905). Finally located the primary account name and tried it. Now I get 805 error instead. After a 45-minute conference call the other day with both Comcast and Xbox reps, and then getting cut off with the problem unresolved, I'm not willing to try another phone call unless someone can tell me what the Xfinity app gives me that my normal Comcast TV reception does not.

I guess I get to join the group of people with the 805 error.  I called in and was told the problem is that the code to add this "service" was not setup in Illinois.  Last week I was getting an error 5 and when I called I was told a ticket was created and the problem would be resolved in 3 days.  It is now a week later so I tried again and now have error 805.  The woman I talked to today said that the other ticket is still open and the gentleman that I talked to last week should not have given me a timeframe for the fix -- according to her it can be whenever.  This seems like a bit of a joke -- a whole state has the database messed up and comcast will get around to fixing it sometime in the future.  If this feature was not really ready then it should not have been released.  Of if you are going to release it, maybe stipulate what states it really works in.  This is very frustrating since every other video service on the Xbox just works -- Amazon, netflix, and hbo -- no issues.

Got the code 805 error. Called rep and she decided after about 10 minutes, including modem reset, that she needed to "escalate to tier 2," as in, send a trouble report (?) to someone else who will work on the problem and get back to me by phone in 48 to 72 hours. From what I've read here, that isn't likely to happen. We'll see...

I've called many times since March 30th to get Comcast to fix this error including a 30 minute call this morning.   It always comes down to the codes not being allowed to be added to my account despite subscribing to the correct package, having a supported Tivo with a cable card, a supported modem, etc.   The technician was nice and tried everthing.  He said that he would escalate it to his supervisor and took my phone number.    This is very frustrating since I'm now paying $30 more a month since my 12 month promotion ran out.   I want the same value for my dollars as most subscribers are getting.

just to let yall know comcast does not support the issues with the xbox   just the internet service used to connect  if ur having issues with ur xbox and ur  internet service is working then u will need to contact xbox

This is not an issue with Microsoft or the xbox. It's a problem with the Xfinity app, which was written by Comcast and communicates with Comcast servers.

I've been having this problem since the minute the app was released, and I'm getting tired of seeing code 805 error every single time I try to activate. I meet all the credentials (TV, Internet, and Voice), and I'm using a cable box with On Demand, plus my modem was supplied by Comcast. I delete and re-download the app almost every week, and still no luck. And when I called, after being put on hold for several minutes and redirected several times, customer service was completely clueless; it sounded as if they didn't even know what the app was in the first place. I would love to have an answer; this has been extremely frustrating!

I'm getting this same error code as well.

I called the 800#  and the guy told me that this app isn't available for use in my Area yet.

 

I find this hard to believe since when are apps limited to availability in certain areas?

same app works on my Iphone. 

I Do meet all of the requirements  Internet, and Xfinity HD Cable box with on demand.

 

Want to use this for the main TV that uses Tivo but has not access to On Demand.

Bottom line questions:    I just have a Tivo with a cable card and do not have a cable box.   

 

1) Should Video on Demand through Xbox currently work for me in my area?

 

2) Are there any plans to change your codes to support this in my area?

 

3) Will Tivo On-Demand (which is currently live in San Francisco & Boston) work if I just have a Tivo and no cable box?   What is the timetable for adding other sities for next 6 months?

I just tried logging in for the first time in a month. When I launched the app it said it had to download an update. I let it download then I signed in and to my surprise error 805 was gone. Finally. I wish the rest of you the same luck.
