So I have a custom greeting setup for my voicemail, but at the end of the recorded greeting it still adds "at the tone please record your message when you are finished recording you may hang up or press 1"
I am trying to get rid of this, I recorded a greeting, whats the point of this extra message saying the same thing?
I noticed in the options for voice in my account there is a setting for "Number of Prompts" which I set to rapid for fewer prompts but it seems to have done nothing, isnt that what the options is for? How can I get rid of the annoying extra message at the end of my voicemail.

nope, no response. Only got the standard auto e-mail saying that "the forum team was made aware of this issue, thank you" message.
I can understand that this is not an immediate problem, just an annoyance. I seriously doubt we will ever be able to turn off the extra message at the end of our voicemails.

If my understanding is correct, the rapid and standard prompts option is only for the prompts you hear as you check your VM. With rapid prompts, the wording isn't so long and drawn out. For example, "For greetings, press 3," would be shortened to, "Greetings, 3." I'd love to be able to get rid of the "At the tone," thing as well.

I finally got around to calling Comcast on 9/26/12. They opened up a complaint report/change request that summarized the issue. The person I talked to understood the issue (he called me while I was still on the phone with him, so he heard the extra message). The change request is asking for an option to disable the extra voice message- not remove it altogether. No promise as to if or when it could happen (maybe never). I do like the other benefits of using their VM- so I may try to convince my wife to change over anyway. Right now, we are using an answering machine.
