I listened to all voice messages via the Comcast site on Sunday and then deleted them, however my phone still shows "New Voice Mail".
I went back to the Comcast site, undeleted the messages, listened to them again and deleted them again. Message still shows on phone.
Unplugged modem, waited 30+ seconds, repowered modem. Message still on phone.
Called Voice Mail from my phone, system tells me I have no messages. Message still on phone.
Anybody have another idea to try?

I have the same problem and have tried the same things to fix it. So it must be a comcast problem

Same problem. Has anyone found a solution?

The 40 or so times this has happened to me (and the few Ive contacted customer support about it) I have cleared it by leaving me a message and then deleting it. Doesnt stop it from coming back later however. Now I get the VM to flash randomly whether there has been a message or not.
Customer service refuses to find a fix.

I called Comcast on Monday, it took them 3 days to correct the problem, my light finally stopped flashing today.

Same here. Will call Comcast-maybe?

I did an email chat with comcast about this and they said they would clear it (didn't say how). The phone is working correctly for now. Pretty ridiculous just to clear a message.

I agree. I don't know why it keeps doing it. I cancelled with Comcast phone last year for various
reasons but got the package deal which included phone service. The lower rate expired this
month. I am cacelling again. Gonna try Magic Jack. Couldn't be any worse. ![]()

I've been having the same problem when I delete the message from my site and not the phone. If I call myself and leave a new message and then delete it from the phone the message indicator light stops blinking. It must be an issue with the online delete option.

I have been going through this for months, them 'TRYING' to clear it, is a pain and it keeps happening, easiest fix. Call yoursdelf, leave a message and go in and delete it. I have been doing that every morning I get up for 4 months now, thats what comcast told me to do. Its a pain, but it works and easier than calling them. They seemed shocked when I mention this problem though.. Im glad its not just me

I dont think its a problem with the online delete, because it happens to me and I have NO voicemail messages, it happens in the middle of the night when the phone HASNT rang.

This seems to be a common problem with Comcast voice, and they can not or will correct problem. I have contacted support numerous times without result. This has become a huge dissatisfier for me and to the point of dumping Comcast voice and going back to VOIP with Vontage. Vontage is a great service and less expensive. Comcast should stick to cable and internet, as their voice service is definitely second rate behind all others.

I think your right about that. But yet they act shocked when you complain about it, Im gonna go to my local office one of these days and make them read this thread. My mother has the same problems with ber voice mail as well, and she does call herself, leave a message, delete, then it clears. But mine is literally every morning its blinking, its not like a phone call tripped it, cuz it never rings.. and just odd it ONLY happens in the middle of the night, and because I dont sleep much its usually between 3 and 4 am, very routine for it to NKOT be an issue on their end. Im seriously thinking about switching back myself.. there is a reason many of my passwords to different things are comcast sucks

This has happened to me twice. It's happening today too. It ONLY happens when I check and delete my voicemail fromt he computer! They have to RESET my phone line to get it to go away. Sometimes when I pick up the phone and hit TALK it reads as BUSY and won'rt connect. This happens when I check my voicemail from my computer.

It is still happening. I have had to call and leave myself a message three times today. Had a friend call once, had Twitter rep call once and had Comcast reset my phone line once when I called them. It comes back! Whenever I mess with ANYTHING voice related online it comes up. Sometimes for no apparent reason and I will be sitting at my desk my VM light starts blinking and BAM no message. I am getting pretty annoyed by this. NO ONE IS CALLING.
I have numerous numbers added to my Call Screening. I wonder if this is the issue.

I doubt it, because I have no one blocked, mine always comes on in the middle of the night, and I know no one is calling then, there is no number on the caller id.. i check my call logs online, and the indicator is blinking and nothing. honestly you would think the tools at cpomcast would read these threads and see its NOT just ONE person, cuz they sure act that way when I caklled.. like they have never heard of this happening before.

Do you check your call logs before or after you notice the indicator? I also get it when I come to Comcast.net when I am logged in. I think it might have something to do with just checking anything on Comcast.net if you are logged in - email, phone, etc.
Also, do you have email transcriber for voicemail turned on? Just trying to narrow down why we are getting these issues.
The gentleman on Comcast Twitter read this thread and escalated my complaint. @ComcastWill. Honestly, Twitter is the ONLY way I have been able to resolve ANY of my Comcast problems. These forums are useless and calling PFFFT no one ever understands my problem.

As per an earlier post, I was having the same problem as everyone else posting here. I finally called called the tech service folks and after explaining the issue they did the expected - reset my voice mail system. What a surprise! They then told me the problem had been fixed. Of course it happened again almost immediately after we hung up. A day or so later I called again. Once again they confidently informed me that they would reset my voicemail system and that would fix it. Again they proudly announced that my problem had been fixed. Following that, I was asked to complete a survey which allowed me to document my displeasure in their response to my issue. When I finally got to the point in the survey that allowed me to describe my issue I complained that it seemed like an obvious case that needed escalation in their tech response system yet they didn't do that. Amazingly I have not had any problems since that second reset. KNOCK ON WOOD!!!

I have checked before and after, and no email transcriber, it just randomly comes on, I have gottne up in the middle of the night to go the bathroom etc, and have actually seen it come on, always between 3 and 4 am. Anytime I have asked them to fixed it they completely wipe out my voicemail, first time I never knew it so I never went back to set it back up, no one could leave a message & the ones that did I never got because they wiped it out, cost me a lot of money in lost work

Same problem for me starting today. Will try the tip to leave voice message for myself and then delete, but sounds like that's a temporary fix.
