My voicemail indicator is flashing even though I do not have messages. How do I get the indicator to stop when I have an empty voicemail box?
Thanks

Hello,
Have you tried picking up the receiver and putting it down again. If it doesn't work, please call customer care and ask for a MWI (Message Waiting Indicator) refresh.

I have been going through this for MONTHS, and when I ask comcast to fix it they wipe out my entire voicemail system.. only to have it happen again in a few weeks anyhow. Comcast told me to call myself and leave a message, then go in and delete the message you left, it will clear it. I do it every morning cuz the minute I wake up.. its flashing again. Its a pain, but it does work. Im glad to know its NOT just me this keeps happeneing to

That doesnt solve the problem either. I have done that I cant tell you how many times.. It takes days for them to do it, and it screws up my voicemail.. deletes everything and then I dont know it needs to be re set up AGAIN cuz they wipe it out to as if you just got the feature. Calling yoursel, leaving a message and deleteing that message is the quickest , easiest way to fix the problem. Even after they refresh, it keeps happening. clearly there is an issue with their service

I'm having the same problem but different a little. Changed my Comcast account by dropping just the actual
voice mail. Now I'm back to an answer machine. I can not get rid of the icon that shows I have a voice mail
that needs to be opened on my phone. I've pushed every button it seems. I unplugged the machine then
reconnected, also took the battery out of 1 of 3 phones and it's still there. I even rebooted and it still was
there. Also tried to delete it by the usual way and of course a voice comes on saying I can't use the system
anymore. On my answering machine it says I have no messages. So now I have to always ck it because of the icon always showing a message. I hope someone can help me out. Thanks

What is happening is you are on the phone and a call comes in via call waiting. It rings so many times and then goes to Comcast VM, not your answering machine. Now the indicator on your phone says you have VM up on the Comcast server. You have to log into your account and go the the Voice Tab and now you can play back your VM on the CC server. Now you can delete the VM and your indicator will go off.

I know this probably sounds dumb to you but I'm not a computer geek. What is the CCserver?

ComCast Server.... where your voice mail is stored.

I am sorry to keep asking questions but I do not have any voice mail messages not heard. They all say 0 and even if I try getting into the CC it says not able to complete this, that it is not able to get into VM the old way.
