How do you block calls from a telemarketer that uses multiple area codes and phone lines? I have looked many up on the internet and get the usual "for a fee" the name and/or company calling. Calling the number to have them stop calling does not work since they have "invalid" phone numbers. They listen long enough for the answering machine to begin then hangup. However, this (to my system) an unanswered call and a message is waiting. I'm not sure that a land line is worth the irritation.

If you do not wish to receive any unsolicited 800 or telemarketing calls, you can sign the National Do Not Call Registry.
You can register up to 3 numbers, cell phones too. Super quick and easy.

Thanks for your reply. I've been on the list for several years, and update just to make sure that my number is still on the list. No help from the gov't.
