I was told when upgrading my Comcast package to include digital voice that I would have to verify E911 information, that a letter would be mailed a number to call and verify the address information in E911.
Have not received anything. Is this necessary or was that incorrect information given.

E911 verification is true.
You can try the we_can_help@cable.comcast.com email to get help and get you the form. Most likely no one will respond until next business week.

If you are retaining (transferring) a current phone number, then yes, this is necessary. It should not be necassary for a newly-assigned phone number.
I was able to do this over the phone when I ordered my Comcast internet/voice.
