Managing Your Voice Mail

Options for inbound callers when they receive your voice mail:

  • Press "1" to skip the greeting and go straight to recording a message.
  • Press "#" to enter your passcode and retrieve your messages.
  • Press "*" to end the call.

Menu Options From Your Telephone

Main Menu:
  • Press "1" to review all of your messages.
  • Press "1-2" to listen to new and skipped messages only.
  • Press "2" to send a message to another Comcast Digital Voice voice mail box. See voice mail messaging for more details.
  • Press "4" to change your personal options.
  • Press "5" to restart your session. This will sign you out of your voice mail box and return you to the beginning as if you had just called the voice mail access number.
  • Press "6" to review any messages you have marked for deletion. This is useful if you deleted a message by mistake and wish to restore it. Please note that this option is only available during the same call to the voice mail system that you deleted the message; once you exit the system, any messages marked for deletion will be permanently lost.
  • Press "8" to play the telephone number of this particular mailbox. This is useful if you have more than one line and are unsure which voice mail box you have accessed.
  • Press "*" to disconnect.
After Listening to a Message:
  • Press "4" to replay the message.
  • Press "5" to listen to the message envelope. The message envelope information consists of the date, telephone number which sent the message (if available) and the length of the message.
  • Press "6" to forward the message to another Comcast Digital Voice voice mail box along with a message of your own. You cannot forward the message to a voice mail box belonging to another carrier. See voice mail messaging for more details.
  • Press "7" to delete the message.
  • Press "8" to reply to the message if it was left by another Comcast Digital Voice customer. See voice mail messaging for more details.
  • Press "9" to save the message.
  • Press "9-1" to mark as unread. By marking the message as unread, your stutter tone and message indicator light (if your phone is equipped with it) will both be turned on. This is useful if you hear a message intended for another member of your household.

    • Note: This will give anyone in your home access to your voice mail.
  • Press "6" for "Auto-play".
    • This option allows you to toggle whether your new voice mail messages are played without prompting when you first enter the system.

  • Press "4" to record your busy greeting.

    • You can set this greeting to play at certain times of the day on weekdays or weekends. Callers will be allowed to leave a message. See Setting up Scheduled Greetings for more information.
