I can use the *72 to forward calls and *73 to cancel call forwarding just fine. If I try to do the same on Xfinity Connect... forget it.
I have put in trouble ticket after trouble ticket (for the last 30 days!), asked for the issue to be elevated, all to no avail. No one knows how to fix the issue.
The web application on Xfinity Connect Preferences, under Voice Preferences, then Call Forwarding and Rings, then edit, you come to the web application to manage Call Forwarding. It just doesn't work here. I cannot add a number. Whenever I try, it looks like it is saving the number, then stops with an error message and the web page defaults to disable call forwarding.
I've tried plain IE 8, various Firefox and Opera versions. All fail. The problem has to be how the web interface connects with my account.
Like I said, the * commands work fine from my touchtone phone. I just wish the Xfinity Connect app would also work.

Could you please check if the problem is now corrected and let me know.

I received an automated telephone call saying it was fixed.
I just tried it (Jun 27, 4:40PM PDT) and it is still broken. It won't take the forwarding number. I get an error saving changes message when trying to use 559-917-8758, and when I try 917-8758, I get an error message about foreign numbers.
Still no-go.

Confirmation: I put in the target forward phone number without any separators ( " ",".", "-" ) and the number now shows up formatted as (XXX) XXX-XXXX. The number stays registered whether enabled or disabled.
Thank you Comcast... Now I can forward to my Ooma phone so I can test that for a few weeks before disconnecting xfinity voice.

I tried an unformatted phone number...nothing...same error.
I tried various formats, commas, periods, dashes...nothing...same error.
Still broke in Fresno.

I think maybe having two phone numbers assigned to my voicemail may be part of the problem. The 412 number is a crumb leftover from a prior address.
I tried many different permutations of formatting and separating the phone number digits. Nothing works. Still get an "There was an error saving changes."

I tried Selective Call Forwarding, and it works. I put in an unformatted phone number, and it saves it as a formatted number and enables the service.
I then tried Call Forwarding, and still broke. Nothing, except the same error message.

Tried Call Forwarding via the web interface today...
Still broke.

Six more days and it's still broke. More than a month now.
Just let me know if the web site app is broken, and I'll stop trying. I have to resort to the * commands anyway.
It seems to me to be beyond the abilities of anyone at Comcast/Xfinity to fix the programming.

I suggenst you PM ComcastVic since he said to check it.
It is not broke for everyone, so the issue is unique to a issue with your account.

At least you got a response from someone as to what was causing the problem.
I have yet to find anyone who knows what is causing the problem with my account. I concluded it's either beyond their capability, or no one cares.

I am joining the growing list of people who are having no luck with being able to forward voice service on anything but the *72 *73 feature codes on the phone. The PC based nor my Andriod based apps work. I just get messages telling what I already knew, that the program didn't work, and try again! For me it seems to have happened within the past week, I seem to recall the prior week it was working fine. ![]()

I agree about fixing stuff that isn't broke.
The call forwarding worked perfect for me in May. Then, ever since, it's been broke. Someone went tinkering and royally screwed it up.

at comcast.net site, click on Voicemail. Instead of using your username and password to log in, use your phone number and password on the right side to log in. That web page will allow you to enable call forwarding. The other web page is broken.

Thank you very much!
Your solution worked just fine.
Thank goodness for users like you!

It is finally working but I have to keep putting in the number to forward to instead of it being saved.

call forwarding is not working why?
