Comcast does not block sites - not www.patmos.fi or others.

What do you mean by "sites"? We've seen situations where the only possible explanation is that Comcast is blocking a particular IP address in their routers.

they may not block sites but ..............

The .gov zone is having DNSSEC validation issues because there are expired rrsig records on some of their name servers. This has caused all domains within .gov (eg. IRS.gov) to not be reachable. We have notified the domain operator regarding the issue. Comcast will be implementing a Negative Trust Anchor to allow the domain operator time to correct the issue.

Re: comcast blocking websites?

There was an issue with the .gov zone yesterday where the signatures were expired on one of their nameservers. Please reference http://www.dnssec.comcast.net/ for more information.

Thanks,

Chris

Yeah, thanks for hijacking the thread with something completely irrelevant.

What's your problem with that? Don't you realize that a Negative Trust Anchor disables the DNSSEC stuff for a particular domain and allows names in that domain to resolve despite that fact that they don't have DNSSEC set up properly? Or do you think that DNSSEC should just be totally thrown out the window?

You seem to still be missing the boat. DNS problems and router blocks are two very different things. I was talking about router blocks. You're talking about DNS problems. Unless a DNS server is blocked in the routers, DNS problems are *not* relevant to a question about router blocks.

Re: comcast blocking websites?

I asked this question two years ago as to why my website did not show up on Comcasts

search engine.

I decided to check it out today and it still does not. If you click the images box,

you get a few.images from the site

I checked out all the major search engines and Ask is the only one to not  find a match

Re: comcast blocking websites?

yes, comcast is blocking websites....  they decide that a site has malware and block access to the site...  like when they started blocking torrent sites...  they unblocked torrents that were live but blocked access to the site itself... they dont announce it.. they just do it...    they have done it in the past, they will continue to do it...    i can connect to 2 sites right this minute using verizon but show up blocked using comcast...   i wish they would stay in the business of providing internet access and stay out of the business of deciding what i can and cannot see....

Re: comcast blocking websites?

If you type in the Norton search window universeabovetheearth.com you will get my website with an

OK rating. If you use the Comcast search window which shows Google you end up with powered by Ask

and my website is not shown in the results.

Re: comcast blocking websites?

After posting  I went back and entered the Norton search box and all I got was The registration info for the website. Pretty bizarre stuff. If you use Google, Bing, or Yahoo you get the website everytime. Ask seems to be the culprit. The first few times there was a raunchy ad at the top of the page, one of those sponsored ones.

Re: comcast blocking websites?

I talked to Norton and they thought it might be an update server problem.

If you use the Norton toolbar while using Internet Explorer and search engines such as Google. Yahoo, or Bing the  website and the OK rating show up.

If you use Ask the website does not show up and never has. The raunchy sponsored ads showing when you type universeabovetheearth.com are bizarre but I guess I would have to ask Ask.
