Refresh needed too often

My programs need to be refreshed too often. When I'm playing a game like farmville or castleville the program needs to be refreshed,

This may sound unimportant, and I guess it is, but just moving my mouse or changing screens I lose the program I'm in and need to refresh. This is happening even after a disk clean, which I've been running

regularly. Any suggestions will be considered.....thanks
