What screen resolution are you using?

Do you use an email client? Which one? (Eg; Windows Live mail, Outlook, a smartphone etc.)
Which browser/version do you use? And- have you cleared your browser cache?
Which operating system? XP, Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X

current setting is 640 x 480 colors are correct but web page way to large for screen size. 1024 X 768 is close to right size but colors are cartoonish.

Make sure your graphic card drivers are up to date. Just have same problem as card failed and had to install old card while waiting for new one. desktop settings were all messed up until I updated graphic drivers to present card being used.
