Re: Comcast App for Android

Hi,

When you go inside email list. You will see top bar called Inbox for xxxx@comcast.net

when you tap on that, you will see different folders.

Re: Comcast App for Android

Just downloaded and installed the new Xfinity Connect app.  Looks nice and seems to work 'ok' so far.  One thing I noticed is that sometimes a contact's photo is associated with the wrong person.  After a couple times of going back to the email, the misplaced photo is gone.

I noticed that the recent DVR question has been moved to another thread.  Does this mean there is another app for managing the DVR?

Hey, Comcast Employee, could you at least tell me that you're moving the thread without any response whatsoever, even though my response had NOTHING to do with the TV app?

Also, since the ENTIRE TV FUNCTIONALITY OF THE APP IS REMOVED with this update, you MIGHT want to at least make SOME note of that in the release notes to give people a heads-up before they install it.

Shermo - you can tap on the folder icon on the left to open the folder and expand it.

We have another issue where when you are trying to move an email you will not be able to expand the folders but this will be fixed in the coming update. (See attachment on expanding folders)

Re: Comcast App for Android

Yes, I can now tap on the inbox to expand, but it does not look like yours.  You have a "-" sign in the inbox diagram when expanded, and I assume you may have a "=" sign when not expanded.  I have a down arrow in my inbox, whether expanded or not.  For other folders, I have have +/- depending on not expanded/expanded, but not for inbox.  Please fix this.

Also, how do you reply within my message??? My replies always get sent to the last message posting in this forum!

Re: Comcast App for Android

Okay. Yes, when the folder is expanded it will show the '-' sign that means you can contract it.

We will fix this.

When i reply, i quote you and that's how i send your message attached.

Re: Comcast App for Android

Okay, I have the new Xfinity connect app.  It is nicer than the "old" version.  But, why can't I send an email that I compose?  When I click "Send"  I keep getting the message "Unable to process request, please try again later".  My phone shows good wi-fi signal, phone bars, and 4G LTE.   What am I missing here?  It seems like it should be so simple.

Thanks,

Rocky

Re: Comcast App for Android

Hi RockyRR,

There might be error on client on your device which is stopping from sending email.

Can you confirm that you have To email address correctly filled?

if yes then can you send across device logs when you face this error?

Steps to send device logs

1. Install log collector application

2. Perform the step where you are facing issue

3. Launch log collector app

4. Share the device logs with developer email address comcastandroiddev@gmail.com

This will help us in debugging issue more further.

Let me know in case of any questions

Ok, did this.  Email to developer seem to go 'ok'.  The email address where I have the problem has been used in the past on my PC, so I assume it's still valid.

Re: Comcast App for Android

This may sound like a strange question, but does Xfinity email only refresh via wi-fi?  I know I had several recent emails and they didn't appear on the app.  I tried refreshing (only had 4g LTE available, no wi-fi) but no new emails appeared.  The refresh only worked when I had wi-fi available.

Re: Comcast App for Android

Thought I'd give this app a try again and have again uninstalled it and will be sticking to using K9 email client. This morning when I logged in to email from my computer I had 3 new messages. None of them would show up in the Xfinity app. I cleared the data & cache, etc. Email would not download.

I had both a wifi and a 3G signal.

I'm just saying....trying to use this app is frustrating.  Getting close to giving up on it.  Revision looks nicer, but doesn't work better.  :-(

I have the latest version of Xfinity Connect (v 4.0.0) on my Galaxy Nexus (VZW) running Android 4.0.4 (IMM76K).  The Xfinity Connect apps crashes and closes every single time it is run within about 10 seconds.  Is this a known problem and is there a fix coming?

Hi DannyW,

Thanks for letting us know about crashes.

Can you do following steps to give us your device logs? This will tell us exactly what is going wrong on your device.

1. install log collector application
2. launch the log collector app when ever you face the crash issue.
3. share these logs with comcastandroiddev@gmail.com
This will give us idea on what is going wrong on your device.
Let me know in case of any questions.

Re: Comcast App for Android

I've been having issues with the XFINITY app as well on my Droid RAZR. I have the XFINITY Connect app version 4.0 Android version 2.3.6.

I've only noticed two major issues with the new update so far:

1. The text messaging feature does not work well at all. I can send texts to others; however, if I am backed out of the XFINITY app and receive a text message notification, I can't open their text message thread when I open the application and click on their name. It closes out of the text tab and takes me to the e-mail tab. This happens evey time. I currently have a few text threads from people that I can't even open and read.

2. Sometimes when I attempt to select e-mails for deletion, it completely closes the application and I have to restart the XFINITY app.

Has this been a common issue for this app? I'm not sure.

Thanks

I have this issue on occasion too.  It happens on occasion when I reply to this one particular email address.  The email address is valid, as I can send emails on the web version, from laptop and mobile site, but occasionally the app says "unable to process request" when I reply to this email address, and I can't say it always happens.  Very frustrating after drafting a long email to find you can't send OR save as draft.

Re: Comcast App for Android

Yep, that's the error msg I get, too.  Another thing I reported but no resolution yet was the fact that you can't send texts to email addresses; my standard text facility allows this.  Even more strange is that when you want to send a text the keyboard comes up in alpha mode, not numeric....go figure.

I currently have an HTC Droid Incredible (3G) running OS 2.2 with Verizon Wireless.   I had an issue 3 weeks ago where my "Xfinity Mobile" app stopped working, so I deleted the app and tried to add the new "Xfinity Connect Mobile" app from the Google Play store and I am getting the error "Your device isn't compatible with this version".  Is there a hardware issue with this new application ?  Also, I can not find the old application as well.  Any help would be appreciated.

I also have the same issues, I have a Lenovo tablet that crashed and had to preform a complete system reset when I started install all my apps back the xfinity connect app now says uncompatible with your device.

I have been using it up until that crash, the lenovo table is now upgraded to ICS and still the app will not load?

Is there a Comcast Rep who knows anything about these issues or am I the only one having them? I was just attempting to text with my son and the text feature within the XFINITY app does not work properly at all since the new update. I can send a text but it shuts down and will not let me reopen the return texts no matter how many times I press on the text thread. Am I posting in the wrong section or something? Is there another thread for texting issues? This along with other XFINITY issues I've been having, I'm about to throw it all out the window!!!!!!!!

This issue will be fixed in 4.0.1 version coming out in a few days.

Meanwhile, can you go your device settings in applications / Xfinity Connect and clear cache. Then log out of the app or delete/re-install and then log in. This will create a fresh database and will fix the issue.

I'm having problems with the voice portion of the app.  Recently, updated to ICS 4.0.4 on Motorola Droid Razr. I updated the app and now it says I'm not subscribed to Xfinity Voice. Well, I have voice mail on both of my phone lines.  The Voice part of the app worked before they updated the app.  Anyone else having this problem?

Re: Comcast App for Android

For the last several days my app v4.0.1 has not been synching with my internet email.  Deleted emails are still shown on app, and read/unread marks are not reflected properly.  in addition, my notification bar shows a much higher unread # than what is showing in my email.

Please advise.

As I am typng I see a download being pushed to phone!  Maybe that will solve it? Update 4.02 installed, and I still see same issues.

Hi shermo,

Can you confirm that you are seeing all these issues in inbox folder of the app ?

For 4.0.2 client, can you clear the cache and login again ? Bad cache from 4.0.1 client might cause issues again in 4.0.2 app ?

Re: Comcast App for Android

Yes, the issues were in my email folder.
I cleared cache/data, uninstalled, turned off phone, turned back on, reinstalled, logged in...
and now the unread marks are correct, and I checked one email and it synch'ed properly.  So far so good, but a small sample testing for sure.
Thanks

Noitifications do not work for email.  After a few hours or a day at most, email notifications just stop.  Text and voice notifications do work.  I try uninstalling and resinstalling and thatt fixes it for a couple of emails but then it starts over.  I have an HTC EVO Shift tunning Android 2.3.4.

Don't hold your breath on fixes.  Several weeks ago I reported a problem where the app was "unable" to send emails to certain valid email addresses.  This problem still isn't fixed.  I even sent Xfinity the data they asked for.

Not surprising. Now my app is telling me that I am not subscribed to XFINITY voice for some reason. I just used it 2 days ago to check my voice mail on my Droid but now it says I don't even have phone service. My home phone still works and I can also access the voice features via my computer though. Weird....

Now I am getting the old "disappearing emails from app inbox" issue, along with emails that were filed into folders still showing up in the inbox on the app.  Refreshing from menu or pull down does not fix the issue.  Clearing cache does not fix the issue.  Clearing data and relogging in fixed it, but I should not have to do that.

Okay. Can you please send me your device logs and i will pass it on the development team to look into what's happening that's causing this .

here are the instructions

1. install log collector application
2. launch the log collector app when ever you face the crash issue.
3. share these logs with kchahal@comcast.net
This will give us idea on what is going wrong on your device.
Let me know in case of any questions.
