I agree and it's stupid.  I have access to HBO go online why not the XBOX??

HBO go has always been blocked from comcast from the biginning this is nothing new.

They do this with the HBO GO app for Roku too.  At least with the Xfinity app for Xbox you can access your HBO content, BUT the app setup is bad and not as user friendly as the HBO GO app.

HBO Go is available through Comcast (Xfinity) only on a computer.

I agree, this is truly lame. I noticed that two of their competitors (both of whom I've been seriously considering) are providing this service. Why would I want to fire up the Xbox so I can watch what's available on demand (and, yes, I know there is a bit more available on the Xfinity app but nowhere near as in depth as HBOGO)

It's ALL completely LAME... What's the point really? HBOGo still requires a subscription with a cable or satellite distributor (i.e. Comcast) and of course Comcast is blocking it. Idiots!

Doesn't matter anyway... I want to be able access HBOGo WITHOUT a Comcast digital TV account (I have basic cable) just like I can with ESPN on XBox Live!

It's as stupid as that CinemaNow app created by BestBuy... access movies via the web only then watch them on your XBox! Completely inconvenient and useless compared with Vudu where you can browse right on the XBox and order rentals like OnDemand. The only dumb thing about Vudu is the pay to “own”  when you don't really own a tangible copy.

They're all too busy trying to figure out how to pickpocket your wallet on a daily basis and NONE of them can provide a decent customer experience & service.

Call 1 800 Comcast and complain (though the guy I talked to tried to sound clueless), email and complain, chat and complain. This is really annoying.

Many people believe they are able to access HBO to go on their Xbox via the Xfinity app, but this is only partiality true. We are able to access a very limited quantity of programming when compared to the true HBO to go app. Examples: Currently on the Xfinity app 2 or 3 episodes of Sopranos, Hbo to go app, every episode, of every season. Same with many shows, such as Big Love etc. Much more elegant interface for streaming on the HBO to Go app, vs an extremely mediocre app for Xfinity. This is why I think Comcast is doing a terrible disservice to their client base. I also believe as that client base begins to see the logical move towards streaming, Comcast, with their unfriendly, high pricing, and access limiting mentality will suffer the consequence. I have been slowly eroding the number of boxes and services I take from Comcast. Given the above examples I cannot see how this trend will change. They have me as a captive for the moment, but this will change as competition increases.

Yeah, this is straight garbage. You pay for comcast, you pay for HBO, you pay for XBOX Live but cant use HBO Go which has all episodes of all the series available.

Got comcast right before the apps were coming out. I was pumped about getting the hboGo app only to he let down. Thanks Comcast, I've only had the service for a month and I've already got to seach for a alternative cable provider.

Lucky if you can... the only tangible option to this monopoly is DSL.

Xfinity is supposed to imply “infinite” content choices and “cross platform features”... if their corporate bozos actually kept that notion in mind this HBOGo thing wouldn't be such a major FAIL.

umm you should re read what they have been talking about--on xbox live they now have the hbo go app.But comcast customers who use comcast ISP"s cannot use the app.I have hbo, i have live, i have comcast i go on hbo go on my tablet,but for some reason (i think its because the xfinity app is about to be out) so i guess they couldnt agee on a  deal. Every xbox live user that had hbo iin the world can use it But comcast customers

if you use hbo go at ur house like on your pc than u can use hbo go-my work around that works great is I bridged the connection fro xbox to pc so i could get on live through the wifi 802.11-i just clicked on install windows media centerxbox extender.From there, i just started watching hbo go thru media center, so as long as i keep that ethernet connected i havemy files, programs and browsing capability on my big screen.It works really well.and with DVR,hulu ,on demand, net flix i dont need comcast's tv plan at all. when ppl start doing that they drop there prices big time, or focus on internet service.a cable company nowadays is like a sam goody or tower records 15 yrs ago.companies that sell something that any smart person can get for free.

I don't get that part of what you're saying... “I don't need Comcast's TV plan at all.” How do you have HBO and not have one of their TV plans? Unless something has changed recently, the only way to subscribe to HBO is through a cable or satellite provider (i.e. Comcast).

It still says on the HBOGo site... “For Xbox 360® users, an Xbox LIVE® Gold membership and HBO subscription through participating TV providers are required."

So in essence you have to pay Comcast for a TV plan including the HBO subscription plus an internet connection. Pay Xbox for your Gold Live account. Then you can run HBO Go either on your Computer, your TV via Xbox, or your mobile device(s) via your WiFi network. 

OR does Comcast now allow you to subscribe to HBO WITHOUT a full blown digital TV plan?
