If your DVR won't record at all, call Comcast, tell them about the problem, and ask them to correct it. If you're having some other problem please describe it in more detail. Is this any Anyroom system?

Depends on the location and the issue. in My Region, only guide 2.0 customers can use the mobile app to schedule recordings from the cell phone or computer. Call customer service, and ask if you have Guide 2.0 or Anyroom DVR service. The areas handled by West Palm Beach require Guide 2.0 which only comes with Anyroom DVR (install required...) in all Corp areas other than 01710. (Vero and surrounding areas)

If you are talking about the xfinitytv app and not a dvr, you cannot record using the app. As it has been posted its only available in select markets.
