Xfinity connect Email banner unread notification counter

The xfinity connect banner count of unread emails on my Iphone 4 does not reset after opening and reading my emails. When the email file is closed and as I return to the home screen the banner reflect no new messages. When the next message comes in the banner continues the count from the previous banner notification amount.

This is a backend issue with notifications server where the unread count is not reset and a fix is underway.
