Xfinity connect does not delete email

I encountered an issue with the latest version of xfinity connect iPad. I am unable to delete email from my inbox. How do I correct this? By the way, the new interface is not as nice as your prior one, and it does not perform in a manner that is consistent with other iPad apps.

Same here. Can not delete messages in my inbox. The older version was much more stable.

I have the same problem; and, I totally agree on the new formatting—it leaves a lot to be desired. The whole setup is cumbersome, and not very intuitive.

My email has not been deleting either. I'm also having continuous problems with the application not opening or turning to a black screen. I e-mailed customer support with these concerns and received a generic response outling steps to resolve the problem. Apparently, the original email was not read because I had already completed all of the steps recommended to fix the problem at least 20 times prior to that. Now, I have the added problem of emails not deleting! Please help!

New format stinks. Even when messages could be deleted why must I hit hit edit, the message, the trash can and then ok? Four steps!!! But when you have a message open all you have to do is hit the trash can and it's gone!!!??? Has to be an easier system!

I just want to add my name to this growing list. All of a sudden this morning, I am unable to delete emails, no matter which way I try to do it. Running the most updated Xfinity Connect App on a new iPad running iOS 5.1.1. Everything is up to date but no luck. I quit the app, restarted the iPad, deleted the app, reinstalled it. Obviously the fix will have to come from Comcast, because we all can't be doing something wrong. This latest version is somewhat disappointing to me as well. No link to the Xfinity TV app - which the old version had. I could care less about texting and I don't have Comcast phone service so i can take or leave those features. I just want an email program that works!

Oh, just noticed on revisiting my iPad that the emails I tried to delete from this morning actually did get deleted while I was away from the device, but one I received on 6/24 won't delete.

I'll chime in here too. Same problems with email delete and the black screen.

Wonder if xfinity does any beta testing before release? Sure doesn't seem like it.

All in agreement....it's JUNK! Logged on iphone & could not delete, logged off iphone...logged on Xfinity on line, & deleted email...logged back on iphone -...PRESTO...email GONE...as should be this NEW and IMPROVED updated app. Fix it or gives us back the OLD and UNIMPROVED...

Barebones mobile site that works on both mobile devices and computers.

 

You can delete mail from there.

One solution is use the xfinity mobile app for the blackberry and you wont have a problem.

Don't like new iPhone app at all. Emails aren't deleting today. And when I pull screen down to refresh, sometimes I accidentally hit Compose. Bad design. And I don't have Comcast text or voice, so that's a wasted menu. Old app much better.

I am in the same boat. The app for my iPad won't let me delete my emails! I am not impressed with the new app!

I thought Xfinity was supposed to be the "best & fastest according to PC Magazine." the commercial says so… SO FIX THE BUG IN YOUR APP!!! Should be simple for y'all! BTW, the new version is a LOT worse than the old one!!!

I am having the same problem on both my iPhone4 and iPad2.  It seems Comcast has a very poor track record when it comes to updating their apps. The update is posted, something goes wrong, this forum fills up with postings on the issue, with no immediate response from Comcast.  I will be using accessing through the mobile browser until this is fixed, but I don't expect a response anytime soon.

I logged out of the Xfinity Connect app and then logged back in. This solved the issue for me.

Changing to a blackberry is not an acceptable solution for an app problem when the app should work on mt iPad. Thanks, but no thanks.

The problem is worse with ioS6. It has resurfaced on the ipad bad the iPhone. Comcast, please fix this!

Let me add to the list of those that can not delete email.

 

The problem appears to happen when one checks the email on the mobil device (iPad in my case running iOS 6) and then goes back to the desktop machine and downloads the email there. The desktop machine preferences are set to delete the downloaded emails from the server.

 

Now the only place the emails seem to exist is on the mobil device. It is like they are stuck in memory. In the past when the mobil device checked the email the old emails that were deleted from the server were then removed on the mobil device.

 

This seems to be a software problem with the mobil version of Xfinity Connect.

Also having the delete/move email problem on an iPhone 4S after upgrading to iOS 6.  Called tech support and got to the app team.  They had little clue and created a ticket to be escalated with a callback in 48 hours (which would be rare for me to receive a callback from Comcast).  Many reports of the same issue here and the App Store.  If it hasn't been certified for iOS 6, just state that somewhere visible, please.  AND THEN fix it.  Many other apps have been updated prior to/at iOS release.

So this hasn't been fixed!  It isn't every email but the only way to delete the ones that get "stuck" is to uninstall and then reinstall and that's a pain.

What is really a pain is the total lack of response from Comcast when things go wrong with their apps.  This started BEFORE the iOS6 release.

My issue is with iOS 5...they've had more than enough time to get it right!  Also, uninstall/reinstall of the app does clear my deleted messages.   They just keep on going, and going and gpoing....

 

The prior version of the app worked well.  How can they take such a big step backwards and still not fix it.  I guess the priority is making sure I become a client, not that I stay a client.

Thursday, September 27 ... I cannot get rid of emails on my iPhone or iPad even though they have downloaded to my computer and been deleted. This problem is NOT solved and needs to be addressed.

Just had that problem again. Uninstalled and reinstalled application.

 

Did report the problem to Tech Support but the tech told me that I am not authorized and that they needed to speak with my wife (Account is in her name). What does reporting a problem have to do with authorization for the account? I was not asking them to change anything. On top of that, the tech would only call the house telephone! I was at work and my wife was not at home. My wife's cellphone number is the contact number for this account but they would NOT call her cellphone. How STUPID is that!
