I have notifications enabled for my Xfinity Mobile App for Email, Calls, Voicemail, etc. but emails do not give notifications on either my iPhone or iPad. I do get notification messages for missed calls or Voicemails. Nor do the new Text Messages show any notifications in the Notification Center. I had hoped this new update would fix the problem but it does not.
Any idea when this might be fixed?

Let us investigate. Can you go the main menu settings for notifications and turn off and turn on all notificaitons once. > ?

Just for clarity, do you mean the Notification Settings in the iOS Settings control panel? or the Notification Settings inside the Xfinity Mobile App ??

Notifications in the Xfinity Mobile app. You can access this from settings from Main menu of the app

I have the same issue with iPhone 4s and Verizon. Did what you said but when updating notifications I get a connection error. The emails are showing up but no notification. The spinning cog also keeps going when trying to update email inbox. Does work with wireless and it did work with previous version.

Can you try to log out and log back in and see if it still gives you an error?
01-11-2012 08:32 PM
Works fine now, thanks!

you are welcome

Ok, I have turned off (and back on) notifications within the Xfinity Mobile App. No change for me. I do get sounds and badges but no other notifications.
No Notification Center notices.... nothing on my lock screen. Essentially none of the standard notifications that every other iOS 5 app supports and displays properly.
In your testing, are you seeing the standard notifications on iOS 5 devices???
01-12-2012 01:44 PM
All iOS5 notifications are working fine based on Testing. iOS 5 provides you the ability to set individiual notification type in device settings. You should make sure that in your device settings >notifications - Xfinity mobile is in Notification center and that the 'Alert Style' is set to Banners or Alerts and not to 'None'.
Can you check if that was enabled?
01-12-2012 02:40 PM
Ok, here is what I have configured in Settings -> Notifications -> Xfinity Mobile:
on my iPhone: Notification Center is ON; Show is: 5 Recent items; Alert Style: Banners; Badge App Icon is ON; Sounds ON; View in Lock Screen ON
on my iPad: Notification Center is ON; Show is: 5 Recent items; Alert Style: Banners; Badge App Icon is ON; Sounds OFF; View in Lock Screen ON
Within the Settings of the Xfinity Mobile App my Push Notifications are set the same for both devices. They are:
Push Notifications ON; Xfinity Connect Email ON; Digital Voice: Voice Mail ON; Digital Voice: Caller ID OFF; Messages: Text ON
As far as I can recall I don't believe I've ever seen a notification on either device for any of these settings.
Per a previous suggestion of yours, I've turned off ALL Notifications within the Xfinity Settings, quit the App, relaunched and re-enabled them. Still no notifications.....

can you delete the version and downlaod the newly released 3.5.1 version of the app. and check your device anc app settings to verify.
01-24-2012 01:22 AM
That did it, thanks so much!!!
01-24-2012 11:32 AM
Is it working fine now with 3.5.1 ?
Thanks

this is happening because of multiple device conflicts. A resolution is in place to go on our backend systems to resolve this issue. I will keep you posted.

Any idea when this will be fixed? I'm this close to ditching Comcast voice mail and using my old fashioned answering machine.
I have two iPhones and possibly an iPad set to use the Xfinity Mobile app to display my voice mails. I get no notifications whatsoever. If I recall, I got notifications when I was using iOS 4.x and possibly only had one device registered to receive voice mail.
Thanks,
Mike

So since I have the Xfinity Mobile App on both my iPad 1 and my iPhone 4, I decided to remove it from the iPhone to see if the multiple device issue affected me.
Here are my findings....
When someone sends me a text message, I get the pop up notification in the Notification Center properly, badge update on the App icon and the 'text' sound effect which is different than the new email sound effect.
When someone sends me an email, I get the new email sound effect and the badge icon update but NO pop up notification or notification in the Notification Center.
When a Voicemail is left on my home phone, I get the pop up notification in the Notification Center properly, badge update on teh App icon and the sound effect to indicate a new voicemail.
So Notifications are partially working. I've never gotten any Notification Center pop up notifications for emails in the past. Only sound & badge icon updates.
So I dont think the multiple device conflicts is the only issue here. Next I'm going to put the Xfinity Mobile App back on my iPhone and test it all again to see what changes (if anything) with both devices having the App installed.

For emails - you only get badge counts and a sound - NO POP UP (this is explained in the settings of the app in the notfications and sounds section)
For voicemails - you only get a sound and pop up and no badge count
For Text message - you get a sound, and a pop up and no badge count.
hope this clarifies. This is the way it is designed. We don't send email pop-up notifications for each email you recieve unlike the naive email client.

The multiple device notification issue is being fixed and will be fixed completely in the week of 2/6.
01-25-2012 03:02 PM
Will you consider adding badge count for voice mails. That is the only thing that I use the app for.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike - Apple does not alllow us to do a total count for multiple badges. Either you can a badge count, or you can do a pop-up. The pop-up clears all the badge counts. It's just the way Apple design is.
Theboxman - can you log out of the app and log back in and try again. sometimes the app has to re-register with the notification servers.

Seems to be working ok after logging out, I'll keep you posted if I notice anything different, thank you!

ComcastKchahal - How about making it an option what the badge count is used for? That way I can configure it to show my voice mail count.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike - good suggestion. I will pass it along. Unfortunately, the badge count is always cleared (to Zero) with another notification - such as email or caller ID. Will keep you updated

I am not getting notifications of xfinity text messages or xfinity emails on my iphone 4S. all notifications are on but i am not geeting any notifications.
02-16-2012 11:07 AM
fweetie - can you log out of the app and log back in and then go to settings of the app from main menu and in notifications/push notifications/ turn off all notifications- email, voicemail, caller ID, text and update (on top right) and then go back in to turn them all ON one by one and udpate.
let me know if it works?

Ugh. Still not working. I got a voice mail a couple of days ago and it did not show up on my or my wife's devices. Two iPhones and one iPad.

Sorry for the delayed response. I saw the suggested fix in a response to another user having the same problem shorty after submitting my question and turned the settings off and on as suggested to the other user. I got a text the next morning and a notification so it worked. Thanks for your help!

Mike can you follow the suggestion given to Fweetie and see if it works? Usually logging out and logging back in on both devices will reset the notifications.

Notifications not working again. Logged out and back in, now when I try to set push and badge to on it won't connect to update the settings.
04-13-2012 11:49 PM
there was a push server outage which should be resolved now. Please log out of the app and log back in.
thanks,

Version 3.5.3.. Get messages that my text notification is not enabled. navigate to settings. I am NOT a voice customer. BUT i used to get audible notifications on emails in the mobile app on my iphone. As od 04/29/12 i do not. I can go to the gear on the bottom right and then in settings in the app I go to sounds and it is set to on. The app is in the notifications center and is set to on. I look at the push notifications and it says off. If i tap on it i can set push notifications to on and xfinity connect email to on and when i tap update it will 'clock' or just keep trying to connect to make the update i guess on your servers...i see the little rotating wheel at the top.....eventually i get the cannot connect...try again later message. This is maddening as it worked up until yesterday and now no audible alerts for emails. Help.....Is this a change to disallow NON voice comcast users from being audibly alertef to new emails?

Let me have someone look into your account. Right now there is a push server outage going on.
04-30-2012 09:30 AM
Push servers are up now. Can you log out of the app and log back in and try again and let me know if it works.
04-30-2012 09:58 AM
it was clocking constantly but all-of-a-sudden came up on it's own....notifictions showed 'on' so I tapped on it and the underlying push notifications and xfinity connect mail options were both 'on'. I seem to be getting email, audible alerts now. Thanks for the help.
