I would like to change the "remember me" feature when opening my Comcast email...
The computer remembers my password...
I DO NOT want the computer to remember my password...
I've looked thru "settings" and "Help", but, neither was not helpful....I must have missed something.
Please help...Thanks

Hello,
If you dont want the computer to remember my password all you have to do is remove the check mark where it says remember me. Then everytime you login you will have to enter your password.

Thank you....but, that is not the solution....
the box is "unchecked"....and, it has been unchecked for a long time......but, the computer still remembers the password.....
where is the "remember me" password stored?
I don't want to use ophcrack to find it for fear of doing damage when trying to solve a simple problem
thanks

NO.....signing in or out or closing the browser or shutting down the PC does not affect this problem....
here's the problem:
let's start with: I SIGNED OUT OF EMAIL, CLOSED THE BROWSER, THEN, PROPERLY SHUT DOWN THE COMPUTER......
then,
1) I start the computer
2) desktop comes up and I click the Comcast icon
3) the PC connects to Comcast home page
4) I click the email icon (the "remember me" box is UNCHECKED)
5) the drop-down screen appears with the user names
6) I click my username and both my username and password (indicated by the asterisks ****** appears)
7) I click the "sign in" box and I'm in my email.....
anyone could do it....you could do it.....
HOW DO i PREVENT MY PASSWORD FROM "APPEARING" via the asterisks....??
I want to type my password
HELP!!
THANKS....

in systems somewhere browser page automatically remember password is only other thought tools> security >remember password for this site

Hello,
Just a suggestions maybe the password is stored as a cookie, Have you tried deleting your browser cookie and clearing your cache and temp files?

What you were seeing is indeed the computer remembering the password using AUTO COMPLETE. This is what automatically fills in the user name and password. Auto complete is what you see when asked if you want the browser to remember the user name/password. This is why it was still there even though Remember me was unchecked.
Remember me when signing in is totally different as it is controlled by a Comcast cookie. Checking Remember me does not ask if you want name/password to be remembered. If you do see something asking for that then auto complete is enabled.
Clearing your cache will also clear auto complete.

If you are using Internet Explorer as your browser:
Click on Tools>Internet Optipons> Content tab.
Scroll down to Auto Complete and click on Settings
Untick the box titled 'Users names and passwords on forms'
Click on OK
