Email access complicated.

Recently you modified access to Email by creating/opening a tab.  So when one exits Email by deleting the tab, the home page must be refreshed to "remove" the original number of unread Emails!  Why complicate?!

Re: Email access complicated.

There are many posts on this new 'feature' in a number of the Forums.  Maybe submit feedback to Comcast.  The Feedback link is located on the lower right side of the homepage.

Need Email Help? Please post the following information in your post.
Do you use XfinityConnect? The Full or Lite version?
Do you use an email client? Which one? (Eg; Windows Live mail, Outlook, a smartphone etc.)
Which browser/version do you use? And- have you cleared your browser cache?

Re: Email access complicated.

Yes, I use Xfinity Connect.  What other choice do I have?  Didn't know there was a "Full" or "lite" version!?

No (?), I don't think I use "an email client."

I believe I use the latest browser version.  Yes, the browser cache is continuously cleared by my maintenance program.

I use Windows XP.

It's not a "problem," just a nuisance.

Re: Email access complicated.

There are many free email programs to use out there. You don't have to use comcast's web based email.

It seemed like a rhetorical question. What can we say that hasn't already been said a dozen times already in the other threads?

Re: Email access complicated.

There are alternatives that don't involve the Comcast homepage.

You can get to email from these pages and it does not open in a new window. That may change at some point though.

1) from the forum click the Email icon on the upper right side of the page.

2) http://customer.comcast.com/help-and-support/

3) http://comcast.com/  Clicking Connect on this page now takes you to the Comcast homepage, which requires clicking Email again and thus opening a new Window.

4) http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/?INTCMP=ILCCOMCOM164817 (connect is in the black bar next to TV. It's difficult to see until you hover over the word Connect)

5) install an email client and configure it to work with Comcast mail servers.
