I'm getting sick and tired of getting "Sun Times" ad, instead of content I wanted to read. I'm paying Comcast for internet, why should you get paid twice. I will use a new home page, like MSN.com. I'll only use Comcast home to check Email.

You can avoid the homepage for email.
Use http://comcast.com/ to get to mail.
Comcast employees must be authorized to post in the forum. Employees posting here have their names in red and are designated as employees. Names not in red are customers.

QE, Am I being overly picky, that link is one GIANT ad for comcast services... Even clicking on Help and Support, you are directed to another page of ads and "helpful" products to download.
I don't know if the link I use to get directly to email would work for the OP, he/she could give it a try and if it does, bookmark it, and they'll never have to go to any homepage to check mail..

Using Firefox with QE's link, only the link at the top right of the page at comcast.com will cut out the homepage. The other two "check Email" links further down the page will go to the homepage, even when signed in.
BJ's link goes to the homepage if not signed in but does go to Email if previously signed in.
Didn't try with IE9, guess that'll be different....![]()

I go to the Customer Service page when I want to use the web-based email:
http://customer.comcast.com/help-and-support/
You can get to email from this help forum as well.

@ Beth,
Yes the link appears to top right on those pages. However if you use Firefox and use the add on "No Script" be sure to allow comcast.net, comcast.com and xfinity.com or the link will not be visible at all...

BJ, I know the page I linked to is full of offers from Comcast. I thought about that when I posted it. My next thought was it's better than looking a page that resembles a bad supermarket tabloid.
I knew there was a direct link but wasn't sure what it was. I knew someone else would come along and post it.
There is another alternative-set up an email client. This also will allow you to NEVER have to go to any Comcast pages in order to get to email.
Comcast employees must be authorized to post in the forum. Employees posting here have their names in red and are designated as employees. Names not in red are customers.

It's funny all of the replys, told me how to avoid using Comcast home page, even for checking Email. Does anybody know why Sun Times gets away with, trying to sell their online content. Instead of letting us read the content we wanted to read?

Sun Times PAYS Comcast to advertise on the page. That's why they get away with it.
It's all about the money.

Hi Paraniod, You are correct, my link does take you to the comcast homepage if not logged in.
I'm using IE8 only so am not familiar with other browsers.
I probably should have said, that I use the Favorites Bar of my browser to bookmark my most used links,
namely links to these forums, comcast's email, the usage meter, and I very rarely go to check mail before I have signed into these forums.. I hate it when I forget and get that homepage..
So I only look at the comcast homepage when a poster complains about something.. ![]()
I guess I'll have to use more words when replying..
