Microsoft Silverlight Installation Problems

Hello,

I was asked to update my current verison of Microsoft Silverlight and when I tried to do so, this is the message I received
This video cannot be played.
We have detected a problem with your Microsoft Silverlight installation (Error 2105). To fix this problem please uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Silverlight.
For instructions on how to fix your problem click below.
I tried to uninstall and the reinstall the program, but it didn't work because it kept saying that I had the program already on the hardrive even after uninstalling it. If anyone could please help me out with this it would be greatly appreciated, because I watch most of my shows/movies online.

It sounds like you still have some Silverlight files installed. Try doing a search on your computer for "Silverlight" and if any files come up, delete them.

Once you have done that, try starting the video again and download Silverlight from our site.

Re: Microsoft Silverlight Installation Problems

It didn't fix it. I've tried everything, including the turtorial that was put up. There's nothing else that can be done?

Re: Microsoft Silverlight Installation Problems

Hi all,

Try using Firefox web browser and see if it works. This is not a permanent solution but it will help us narrow down your issue.

Re: Microsoft Silverlight Installation Problems

I was able to download it via google chrome but when I try to watch anyting on Safari it doesn't work. I mainly use Safari, so it would be great to be able to watch movies online from there.

It seems like there is something in Safari that is preventing Silverlight from working. Try uninstalling Safari and then download and reinstall it again. Hopefully, this will clear up any conflict that exists.

Let me know the results.

Safari is essentially built into OS X, it's not a separate installation.

Re: Microsoft Silverlight Installation Problems

This seems to be an issue that most comcast customers are having...I cannot get it to play on either of my computers on any of the browsers or my tv. Just ridiculous. You guys need to fix this or don't advertise it as a feature!

If your cable on your TV is not working, then XFINITY will not work on your computer. Please call 1-800-XFINITY for further assistance.

Re: Microsoft Silverlight Installation Problems

I have had the same issues. My laptop has Windows 7 and I tried to install MS Silverlight for the past month. After following all of the "Official Website" recommendations and those from other customers, I found resolve in Google Chrome. Everything I wanted to watch was availible through Google Chrome and their Flash player. I can now watch my shows and am happy. Do not use MS Internet Explorer, and your problems will be resolved...I hope. Let me know how it goes.
