please do your self a favor and do not use Norton, it is near immpossible to uninstall completely. It is bloatware. It ties up resourcesm slows your computer down. You will regret it. Microsoft has Microsoft security Essentials (MSE) it is a simple, free antivirus, anti malware and works great. Your router has a firewall you can configure, if you want additonal internet security there many free programs avaialble that do not take over your computer. geekstogo and bleepingcomputer are 2 great websites to research and find free products, not illegally, but freeware, like MSE
