Why am I being inundated with advertising on every section of Xfinity? The home page, my e-mail page, every story I link to, everything!! It's not like you give the Internet to me free and you cover your costs with Advertising. I pay just under $60 a month. It,s getting ridiculous. Cut it back or lower my cost. You know your the "only game in town" and you are beginning to take advantage of it. Perhaps if WE ALL decide to use another Home Page that may show you, but I doubt it.

Ghostery seems to be for disabling tracking features, not blocking ads in general.
Why so many ads even though you pay? The same reason that there are over 15 minutes of ads on basic cable TV channels, and about half the content in magazines and newspapers is ads, even though you pay for all these things as well. The simple fact is that subscriber fees aren't enough to cover the costs of these services. Removing the ads means they'll have to INCREASE our bills to maintain the same revenue, do you really want that?

Perhaps you noticed I used the word "inundated". That means to overwhelm. Not just a little advertising, but a glut of it. More now than before. I've had Comcast internet for over 8 years now. The monthly fee keeps increasing as does "the advertising". Just now to sign in to reply to this the login screen has a full screen ad for Capital One. When I check my e-mail there is an ad to the right that changes with each new e-mail I open. As I stated and I maintain...there is TOO MUCH ADVERTISING. There is a difference in COST for service and PROFIT from ads.

I think there are to many ads on tv just like the internet, but it's not going away.

You can opt-out of some of the ads in your Webmail inbox. Please see http://forums.comcast.com/t5/E-Mail-and-Xfinity-Co

Good luck. I just glanced at www.verizon.net, and it looks a lot like xfinity.comcast.com. And www.att.net redirects to a Yahoo page.

Hey BruceW, thanks for that! Hope it helps.
It's no wonder EVERYONE I know that has Comcast HSI uses another email provider. Today when I logged on a video started playing (even though I never clicked play video - as was instructed if wishing to view).
If I have to look at that dopey guy advertising mortgage rates much longer? He looks like an imbecile. @ least use only beautiful people in the ads, that would make them a bit more palatable.
