does your ipad have the most current version of the ios? do you have the most current version of xfinity tv player? Are you signed in with the primary account holders credentials?
If yes to all of that, sign out of the app. Clear cookies and cache. Uninstall the app, restart the pad. download the app. sign in and try again. Also make sure you don't have more than 3 devices assigned to your account 3 is the max. If you click the tv tab top of this page the on the following page bottom right corner you see a wheel click there. Now under mobile devices how many are there. If its 3 and ipad is not one you will need to delete one of them.

Also, try deleting the app and install it again and then try a video.

and your signed in with the primary account holders user credentials? Is this ipad jailbroken or just normal

Current version is 5.1.1 you are way behind you are missing a lot of great features and that might be your issue. I would connect to itunes and update that software and try again.
