I would like to try this app out for the blackberry phone but I can not find a place to d/l it. Is this a upgrade to the version 2.3.6 dated 8/9/2011 build n or is the blackberry version coming soon?

The app for apple isn't even in app store yet.  Apple devices are usually supported first so you might have a wait.  This was just posted by comcast a few hours ago and no one really even knows anything about it, so stayed tuned.

Unfortunately, XFINITY TV Sports Remote is not available for blackberry.  But if you have an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch running iOS 4.3 or higher you should be able able to download the app here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/xfinity-tv-sports-remote/id479964719?ls=1&mt=8

An android version will be coming soon.

Why are blackberry users always the last to receive new apps? Blackberry users had to wait for over two years to finally get a mobile app now the same thing applies.

Blackberry currently has a 10% market share in the cell phone market.   Most people have android or IOS so companies make services for the majority.
