I clicked on start and entered all programs. when looking through the program list I realized that there were 2 different internet explorer programs on my computer. one of the programs was designated internet explorer and the other was named internet explorer (64 bit). I chose the program named internet explorer. This opened internet explorer using 32 bit format. all of the videos work fine as long as I don't open internet explorer (64 bit)

OK knock off the it's something on our computer stuff the last time this happened I stopped watching for a while and it went away. Besides it only happens with pay chanel vidieo can Comcast just admit to it and get some qualified people to fix it, Look I have both my buisness and my home hooked up to Comcast and when a suitable choice becomes availible I am going to take it.

Sorry to hear you are having problems watching entitled content. The error you are experiencing is indicative of your computer having issues downloading certain files at the start of playback. This can be caused by a firewall or proxy.
When you receive the error again - can you click on the error screen (anywhere with your Mouse) - followed by hitting the Shift-L keys on your keyboard.
Please copy and paste this output back to this forum.

Please, this is COMCAST's issue, not mine. As usual Comcast always lays the problem on users, For YOUR INFORMATION I DID NOTHING AND THE ERROR 3222 STOPED BY ITSELF. In reading others report of the same problrm and doing what was suggested by COMCAST it didn't work.
And, based on other complaints I had and didn't give up on, it turned out to be based at COMCAST. My pixilation problem I had on my cable TV required the main outside cable to be replaced NOT MY EQUIPMENT ! But my HD TV has pixilation problems from time to time even though all mt equipment checked out perfectly by 3 separate technicans, but was told by a supervisor pixilation problems stem from the source at COMCAST, yet I had to put up with phone calls, visits, etc. Admit your lack of knowledge and responsibilities.

I haven't been able to play anything for a week or so now. Cleared everything out, restarted, etc...

I've been getting the same error message at work and home while trying to watch anything on HBO, the only premium channel I subscribe too. All other free network shows work just fine. With this many people, we all know its a Comcast issue, they just won't admit it. We've narrowed it down for them, FREE shows work, PAID shows don't. That alone has knocked about 500 channels they don't have to check and fix.
Come on Comcast cause this choker you have on my wallet is a little too tight. D**N $208/month!

Tried everything listed in the forum thread along with Comcast Joe's suggestion of uninstalling and re-installing Silverlight, but still recieve the 3222 error. The problem started when the player told me to upgrade Silverlight. I utilize both Chrome and Safari and both have the problem. It seems to affect the longer videos of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, but not the short 2-3 minute clips. Bottom-line I believe that it is a Silverlight issue. Since Silverlight is a Microsoft product I should expect issues anytime there is an upgrade.

I am also getting the error 3222 message. I followed the steps mentioned and it didn't help.

Give this a try. Make sure you are logging on to the internet using Internet Explorer 32-bit
click on the start button and go into all programs. Look for the internet explorer program. If you see both "Internet Explorer" and "Internet Explorer 64 bit" then right click on the program "Internet Explorer" and then "send to" and them "Desktop (shortcut)"
This will create an icon on your desktop so you can log on to the internet using 32 bit technology. When you log on using the 32 bit internet explorer you should be able to watch programs or whatever on exfinity. When you log on using "Internet Explorer 64 bit" you will not be able to watch programs.
I don't know why but this worked for me.

Comcast is offering a product that they cannot suport. Every fix that they have offered has failed. This is not the first time I have delt with this issue, the last time it just went away after a few weeks of the run around. I am thinking we all need to contact our States Rep and request they look into why Comcast can advertize programing that they cannot provide.

What is the update on this issue?...I'm seriously considering going back to netflix.
I already cancelled starz yesterday because of this issue.
If i cant watch any of the programs I'm paying all this money for then what is the point of this service?
If i have to wait any longer for my xfinity to work I'm cancelling HBO and Showtime.
please give us an update on this issue

Nothing "they" tells you works, because the problem is not with your equipmentm the pronlem is with COMCAST, but they will never admit it. BTW HULU streamed DOES HAVE COMMERCIALS so don;t go near them, NETFLIX without COMCAST is for me until COMCAST buys out NETFLIX.

In ruling out any sort of firewall or administrative-privilege constraints on your PC, can you reach the following urls in your browser (same browser you are attempting to watch content) - no need to paste back to the forum - just want to see if you are seeing any content come back in the web browser:
If on both of these links you are successful - please attempt to watch the same Bill Maher Video once again:
06-04-2012 02:15 PM
It looks like you may have had an interruption in your internet connection at the moment of playback. Additionally, it looks like the video is no longer on our site - are you still seeing the problem with other video assets?
06-06-2012 11:12 PM
I was able to access both xml files in the browser and the bill Maher link still didnt work. I have tried to watch shows on three different computers. one of them a mac and its doing the same thing.
Does this have anything to do with the latest silverlight upgrade that you guys pushed out?
where do we go from here?
once again CBS and ABC shows are working. everything else is not so it has nothing to do with our computers. or at least mine.

Getting the same Error 3222 code when trying to watch the HBO "McEnroe/Borg: Fire & Ice" documentary. I've upgraded to the newest Silverlight, cleared my cookies and history, and done everything else I'm supposed to. I can watch other things (even other HBO movies), but not this one.

Ive been getting this message for a few days now trying to watch Girls. I watched half the episodes and then it stopped. Ive been able to watch other shows. Here is my info:

The error you are experiencing is indicative of your computer having issues downloading certain files at the start of playback. This can be caused by a firewall or proxy.
Please check your firewall settings and make sure that you are allowing XFINITYTV.com and XFINITY.com to pass through your firewall.
06-12-2012 11:26 AM
But if it's a firewall issue why would some HBO shows play perfectly while others result in the dreaded 3222 error message? If some shows are playing without a hitch isn't that an indication the firewall settings aren't the problem?
06-13-2012 01:08 AM
06-13-2012 04:53 AM
Well, I went home last night and set XFINITYTV.com and XFINITY.com as exceptions not to block with my firewall, and completely rebooted my system.
No luck...same result, same error message.
What else should I be trying?
06-13-2012 12:08 PM
I am getting error 3222 as well. I have tried all the suggestions listed below with no success. I don't know what else to do. Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you!

I have been watching movies from my laptop with no problem until a few days ago. Now I am unable to watch any movies, but I am able to watch House and The Secret Life of Teenagers. I don't understand Tech lingo so I need someone to give me very detailed instructions on how to fix this problem because the suggestion previous to me getting here was fruitless.
06-19-2012 11:04 AM
I have done everything you instructed and tried Google Chrome, Firefox and IE. I've checked my firewall and everything. Still not working.
This happened once before to me a year ago and I just went away and after a few months came back and it worked again. This is frustrating!

First Attempt, on Mozilla:
Error 3222, before anything loads or plays. I clear cookies and cache. Refresh.
Error 570, Video barely loads. I hit refresh again.
Second Attempt, on IE:
Error 3222. I delete cookies, temp files, the whole shebang. Refresh.
YIPPEE! It finally works, half an hour later. Still, I NEVER use IE. Is there a way to make Mozilla work?
06-25-2012 01:09 AM
i have tryied everything bellow and still nothing is working. ill be in the middle of watching a movie and it will quit on me give me errors then when i try and rewatch it it will give me Error 3222. this is something that happens alot.
06-26-2012 03:31 PM
Getting constant 3222 errors when watching online, in both Chrome and IE8. Have tried clearing cache and cookies in both browsers. Latest version of Silverlight installed. Also have received "6001 Video Unavailable" 3 out of 9 episides in an HBO series.
06-27-2012 01:38 AM
None of these steps work. I've been having an issue for 1.5 years since I've had xfinity. One day it works--another day it gives you a 3222 error. The day they have FIOS on my street, I want to forget this nightmare and frustration with their online tv.
06-27-2012 01:58 AM
Can anyone help me by providing directions on how to fix playback error 3222? I'm trying to watch Franklin & Bash and this error message keeps popping up and stopping play.
